Conundrums abound. Does our below average start influence Gerard’s decision should he send Archer out on loan again this season. Should he be at a team that is expected to push high up this league and the influence of Kompany on his professional attitude. Or should Gerard go for character building in a squad where you have to fight, work hard to succeed and have the ongoing relationship of Beale and his coaching around him. Or should he let him go back to PNE and carry on from last season - too comfortable an option perhaps? Lastly, can we afford him?
Can Burnley guarantee he starts every match? If he’s sent out on loan that would be to get first team action.
Money-Grabban so and so! Re Archer, perhaps if we'd pulled our finger out we would have got him before the season started and be 4 points better off? Catch 22. We have a week to get a non panic buy striker on board. If we continue with current squad until Jan then woe betide us. It seems until we are in the bottom 3 , the powers that be won't accept we are in a dogfight.
Absolutely zero chance of Archer before now. PL were a week or so behind the EFL and he was on Villa's pre-season tour so Gerrard could run the rule over him. Not that I'm saying there's a chance now either but it would always have been nearer the end of the window.
Strewth all quiet for ages and now as many as 5 potential signings! Hope this isn't panic stations. https://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr...c&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=socialnetwork
Good to read there might be some changes. I think Beale will come good once he's got the team he wants in place.
If all this is correct it seems like he's coming back to thinking the squad isn't strong enough, and like Warburton that it needs a more experienced spine.
Nothing wrong with an experienced spine unless the plot is lost in terms of youth development -isn't that the reason why Warbles was supposed to have been dispensed with.
If the report is to be believed then MB is looking to make some hard decisions, or at least decisions that will certainly influence next seasons squad. Plenty there that many have been saying for some time - but just how much will actually happen? Just hope we still see some youth opportunities happen if it’s felt they are good enough - even if sometimes it is coming from the bench. Tough balancing act if the players, like Hameleinen, aren’t up to the task (who gave agreed to give him a 4-year deal?).
Somewhat less reputable source "football insider" has Leon Balogun free agent from Rangers having a medical this afternoon
I don't think Warburton went because of that. Mostly the available young back up wasn't good enough, and still isnt as Beale has now found out, apparently. Warburton and Ferdinand surely knew it. I think Warburton was let go because the results from March weren't good, and we didnt make the target top 6. Having both Willock and Dieng out injured was bad luck but not a good enough excuse it seems.
