Thanks Astro.

I think this is on par with my post about Rodgers being the best manager ever in the history of the game.

It is amusing to look at posts from 2/3 years ago where you've made predictions to see how right/wrong you were. I think we all on vast majority of cases get it totally wrong, probably why none of us are actually managers.

Managers get it wrong a lot as well

Softens the blow though when you get a nice cheque for not doing a good job <doh>

Yes but when you keep doing things wrong you end up looking like Hodgson... all the money and liposuction in the world won't fix him <yikes>

So some of my **** predictions...

I said Borini was going to be a great signing.
I said Ricky Lambert was the old head we needed.
Suso was the next big thing.
Pacheco (like everyone).
There's probably more.

Got right?
Studge from the start when there were doubts I said it was a great signing.
Bellamy again from the start.
Alonso I had seen play on a few occasions and was raving about the signing.

Joey Barton says that Xabi Alonso took the place in the Liverpool midfielder that could have been his.
“Xabi and I had history. He blamed me for knocking him out in what he thought was a deliberate clash of heads in one of our earliest contests, and I blamed him for stealing my move to Liverpool.

“All that remained to be agreed with City was the fee, when Rafa Benitez took over from Gerard Houllier. I was in Dubai when I was informed that he had instead decided to sign a kid from Real Sociedad who had just broken into the Spanish national team.

“That turned out to be £10.7m well spent. Xabi is one hell of a player, whose passes have a great range and accuracy.

“Whenever we played, I sought to get the game on my terms, which were relentlessly physical.”

and thats why one guy is suspended withoutpay in a **** club in scotland and one is playing for bayern having won 2 german leagues, german cup, spanish league, spanish cup tice, 2 champions leagues and an FA cup....

oh and cos he's from a decent country i suppose i should add world and european nations cups but thats be a bit unfair an barton... i suppose.

By that time as I recall barton had burned a youth players with a cigar and had many red cards to his name as well as poor off field discipline so.... if houllier was attempting to buy him i'm glad we sacked him before that happened.

Barton condintued his high jinks with city til he assulated a team mate and damaged his eye which i think lead to him basically being told to F off.

As a result of his behaviour he missed out on ever wining a mjoar trophy i think?
