25 man squad and general thinking is you have 2 for each position.

Assuming we're playing 4231 have the following who you'd class as being in the squad

GK
Karius
Mig
Manninger

LB
Moreno

RB
Clyne
Gomez
Wisdom

CB x 2
Sakho
Matip
Lovren
Ragnar
Ilori

CM x 2
Can
Grujic
Hendo
Milner
Allen
Alberto
Lucas

LW/RW
Mane
Lallana
Ojo

AM
Cout
Firm
Wijnaldum

CF
Sturridge
Origi
Ings

Benteke
Balotelli

Red assume will be on there way.
Suggests to me that GK, CB & RB are fine possibly with Wisdom moving on. LB is obviously an issue in terms of numbers let alone quality.

CM looks high for numbers and a bit low on quality. All the players there can do a job but a bit similar there, no real variety.

RW/LW does look a bit short. Mane is good and Ojo looks promising but Lalalana isn't really a wide player and although Cout/Firm/Wij could play there not natural.

CF is very high for numbers

If all those in red are moved on leaves us with a squad of 23 for a campaign including no Europe which is fine.

I totally agree with everything youve said.

I do think wijnaldum can cover wing area and as such id say add real kids like ejaria, brannagan and kent to this and we've loads of players even if we did have europe.

I think what you said on quality is bang on. We need to shift a lot of players and improve the quality. It really is just a question of what can this lot deliver to enable further inprovements in 12 months time.

I would note its a young team as well. Many mid 20s there who could play together for 3 years. Only klavan and milner are 30 and above.

Will Arsenal finally get the title this season? They have done some pretty nice business, but I'm still not convinced they have enough goals to win the league.

Cech
Bellerin Mertersacker Koscielny Monreal
Ramsey Xhaka
Sanchez Ozil Mahrez
Giroud

Plus: Welbeck, Wilshere, Cazorla, Walcott.

Maybe a little narrow but it is a nice team.

Mahrez?

I thought that was still just rumoured.

This is my exact logic to. 2of every thing. For me Milner is a winger. Klopp only played him CM when he was forced by injuries.

I feel letting Flanagan go would be a mistake and playing Gomez at fullback could break him like Martin Kelly.

They don't have a good enough GK, ST or defence.

Excellent player to have in the squad. I wanted to keep him purely for dressing room hugs.

Our best player in the Europa final.

Not too much left in the tank, although should be excellent in such a ****e league as the SPL.
You did so well till the last predictable line . <laugh> Enjoy 6th place ... Again <ok>

<ok> Or just hope Sturridge miraculously manages to make it through the season without injury.

You could hope for that <laugh> Can't see it tho

Benteke finished at Liverpool ?

Yeah, definitely. A player who scores the majority of his goals from crosses was never going to thrive in a team with nobody who can cross the ball effectively.

That plus his lack of work rate means he just isn't suited to us, and was a massive waste of money.

What are you making of Rodgers so far?

Mane and Wijnaldum can get the ball in the box very well, would seem strange to buy the ammunition then sell the target.

Yeah , it was a big fee for no return!

Too early to judge but I was pleased with the appointment ... Hoping he can add a few of his signings to a good core squad and get them playing passing possession football .

Obviously , he has the worst European result ever to his name now <laugh> <doh> but I can only see him being a positive appointment .

Hope he gets us into champions league ... but I'll be happy if he makes sure we beat a resurgent rangers to the title .

You thinking top 4 this season ?
