Liverpool scouts were in attendance for Empoli's Serie A fixture against Genoa last week and during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Sampdoria.

Zielinski is a pacy midfielder that can play in a central role or on either on the wings, his displays in Serie A has resulted in the midfielder earning 11 caps for the Polish national team, which he is expected to be a part of for this summer's Euro 2016.

The 21-year-old has been an instrumental figure for Empoli this season, playing 27 times and scoring 3 goals for Serie A's 11th placed club.

According to reports, Jurgen Klopp is planning a summer overhaul at Anfield which could see several players coming in and out of the door at Liverpool.

Zielinski could join Schalke's Joel Matip and Red Star Belgrade's Marko Grujuc, both of which have already signed pre-agreements with Liverpool that will see them join Jurgen Klopp's squad in the summer.

They seem to be very firm rumours now. It's odd they are in March but I'm sure some early deals are being sought.

Clearing the chaff is where we are going to struggle.

Not sure if true but I read that German clubs tend to do their business very quickly. Given we have already signed Matip and Grujic, it bodes well for us.

These are also all.... value deals.... as it were. The type of deal klopp seems to do more of than a mikhitaryan type.

Grujic is young, not worried about that too much. Zielinski is 21 which is also young but he's at the right age to take a risk on... however the infamous spine still needs servicing.

hes a udinese player on loan at empoli

looks decent from that youtube vid (i know i know), seems quick & comfy on both feet, can play anywhere in midfield, is polish so the physicality shouldnt bother him, not sure about what fee is expected but i id guess its not massive

as mito said its getting rid of the dross, and theres so much of it it cant be done in one window imo

Think we'll replicate last summer and look to make early cheap deals before moving on more challenging targets. It's a good strategy and the owners will likely want to do it again seeing Milner has been a relative success (and Ings contributing before injury).

Zielinksi looks a decent player from the little I've seen. Won't set the world alight but would help bring some cohesion to our midfield - which let's face it is workmanlike rather than quality. Looks to have a decent passing range.

Just difficult when we still need a goalkeeper, fullback, midfielder, winger and striker to have a truly strong squad... Can't have another transition summer.

But deals are there to be made - hope we at least try for Gotze (contract), Subotic (cheap), Gundogan (contract), Horn (release clause) etc etc.

Nope, I just think Spurs playing style would suit him better.

I think our styles are/will be similar - Klopp wants that fast high pressing game. Poch plays pretty much the same way.

Henderson would work for Spurs though as I think with Alli, Dier and Kane you have a good solid base there.
