LIVERPOOL TEIXEIRA DEAL ‘UNLIKELY’
Sky sources understand Alex Teixeira is unlikely to join Liverpool in this transfer window after the two clubs failed to agree a fee for the Brazilian.
Shakhtar Donetsk wanted at least £35million for a player they consider to be their last remaining valuable asset.
We understand it is likely Teixeira will leave in the summer, but no deal is in place with Liverpool or any other club.
Earlier this month manager Mircea Lucescu said he would not stand in the way of Teixeira leaving if the offer was right for the club.
Shakhtar have regrets over the £24 million sale of Douglas Costa to Bayern Munich, deeming the value too cheap, and as a result were prepared to be stubborn with the Teixeira negotiations.
They are also mindful of winning back the Ukrainian title from Dynamo Kyiv. The pair are level on points at the top of the table with Teixeira a key part of the team.
.....
That's sky's report.
I don't think I'll waste energy waiting to see this one happen or not now.
Crazy thought...
What would people think if we splashed £120m on a triple signing of Lukaku, Barkley and Stones?
(purely hypothetical of course)

I would think we can do a lot ****ing better for that sort of money than them 3 and be sad as its Rodgers all over again wasting moneyCrazy thought...

I'd prefer £120m on Lukaku and Barkley thanks![]()

But surely he can get 3 better potential younger players for that sort of cash?Three very young quality players that Klopp could improve?

Not sure Lukaku would suit us. Good player no doubt, but he can be quite lazy at times.
Barkley is quality though.
Think Everton would want more... they want £50m for Stones.. would want something similar for both the others as well.

Exactly, this guy knows where the onion bag is...............and that's what we need..........NOW.........I just have a strong gut feeling. Everything that's being reported, him coming out and being so open about it. Personal terms agreed. Just stinks of a transfer that's hit a slight snag that will be pushed through.
I hope I'm not wrong. The Brazilian boys at Anfield would be great.
I'll also add that I think this transfer makes sense. Many on here don't I've noticed. The simple matter is he scores goals, we lack goals. Simple equation imo. I'm sure other positions will be looked at too, but this window may be too soon. Summer will be the wholesale changes. But Tex, Ford, and Firm would give us excellent options up top.
Stones and Barkley would improve you immediately, you could have a great CM and CH meaning you could bench Can and Sakho. Not sure Lukaku would be much use to you unless you bought Delafeu as well, he needs somebody who can spot and make a pass to feed him.

No chance.. Stones would replace Skrtel and Barkley would replace Lallana.
Mig
Clyne Stones Sakho Flanno
Can Barkley
Hendo Firmino Cout
Lukaku

Fair enoughNot sure there is a better young striker out there than Lukaku atm.
Barkley is superb and I'd take him in a shot.
Stones I'm not fussed on but had to throw someone in the (plus its the whole spine) to make it less appealing.
Just creating a discussion really![]()

fixed
Or...
Mig
Clyne Stones Sakho Flanno
Hendo Can Barkley
Firmino Lukaku Coutinho
Lukaku loves a cross... he's not as reliant as Benteke but still loves a cross so would be no use in our team.
