The odd cup, that's all.

Since we last won the FA Cup only Pompey and Wigan have lifted it outside of the old Sky 4 and the oil clubs - both now relegated.

A few have won the LC, but largely because the CL clubs haven't been that arsed with it for spells during that time.

Since when has the current calendar year been 'cherry picking' results?

Klopp's early Liverpool record of a 45% win ratio is 6% worse than Rodgers managed in his time in the role, so maybe you were right about him <ok>

Point proven - unless the players are playing amazing every game, you've written them off. The players mentioned have hardly played and are new to the country.

Even sterling and Ibe came in for a lot of criticism as well when they broke into the team.

You want youth but you're not patient. Well,
Unless you're a local lad - then you have all the time in the world it seems.

I didn't realise you were being so literal about your tiny sample size of 5 games during which we have had the most injuries of any PL team

Congrats on zero league wins but keeping yourself in 2 cups

Again...nonsense Jimmy. Another fallacy you like to spin that has little substance. I quite like Origi for the simple reason he's come in and tried his hardest. Shame I can't say the same for Marko eh. Insua was his own worst enemy and it's hardly my fault Klopp has already frozen Ilori out is it?

Who have been the most popular players at Anfield over the last decade? Carra, Gerrard, Alonso, Sami, Suarez, Pepe, Masch, Riise, Dirkus....only 2 locals there mate.

You need to get over this foreign vs local bollocks. Yes (those of us from the city) all love to see local lads come through but we love seeing any player come through (or bought in) who puts in 100% week in week out. If I gave you a list of my ten favourite Reds of all time there would be two or three locals in it at best.

so you are happy with the performance but not the results... currently.

this is the thing.... in bold.... now i understand resources and a league ok... i genuinely do but a cup is a few games over a period... there was nothing stopping moyes and the like form really going for cups.... and not bottling it each time. oyu never ever seriously went for the league cup in all the time i can remember.. never once... it was only the odd time an fa cup run would turn in as well. why not? you had plaent yof chances and years to really try.

Same for villa and many other clubs btw.. its this float along everything is ok attitude.

SO you say we spunked it.... fine... I don't care... it was spunked all over in an attempt to get glory... a glorious failure if you will.... we have in short done everything "easy" to get success, I don't think we've done the hard year on year building of not a first team but a football structure geared to consistent success. never... not under benetiz not under houliier and why? cos they are first team coaches.

I define everton by bill kenwright.. its just enough attitude, just keep it going.

I define LFC by David moores, G&H and FSG all doing half assed quick fix, amateur hour stuff using club revenues and all 3 poured in initally more than they wanted to then said ah **** it its too hard after a couple years

LFC are run currently by a crowd who don't want to understand the fundamentals and want to be told. Kenwright understands the fundamentals but doesn't want to do anything more than keep things as they are.

And btw... utd are no better... they have the giant cash but no processes in place so will go form manager to manager now tossing baby out with bath water. Its much harder build a strucutre that really delivers.

LFC will continue to chase the dream. What will everton do? And btw billionaires? not with oil at $30 and frankly not with the league already having 6/7 clubs up there and all 20 loaded.... randy lehner is a billionaire remember.

My ideal would be:

I'd love 20% of LFc to be fan owned and have a consistent voice in the club to not drive petty stuff but to just be a consistent voice. This could have been done to build that main stand AND anfield road end.

Float the rest on the stock market, then whatever is FSG's wont.

Live within the means of the club.

Have clear club structures on and off field that deliver consistent ethos and results that are clealry assignable to someone be it good or bad.. this committe bullshit has to end. nobody knows who the **** picked who.

1 would be welsh (joking) Owen (rush was old and gone when i really saw him)
and the last would be spanish Alonso....

And noticing I have a makings of a team I'll give fave keeper as welllll... I would say reina but I have to say in my lifetime wathcing LFC (first seen grobs) every one let LFC down somehow.. Grobs, james, friedal, westerveld, dudek, reina, mingolet.

Other examples were aspas who ran off, alberto, pacheco, suso... all demanded football instead of working for it... everyone of them could knuckle down and really fight (and most of them being told they were not going to play was this attitude in first place) but they chose to take easy route out.

you simply have to really apply yourself in this world in any profession and it seems to me these guys can live well forever on the first contract and they simply have no hunger to be the best.

Thats why I'd give a wee did to flanagan to wind up lads but have repsect for him and randall and lads like darby and spearing before them who gave a damn and tried to make it. jmimy you've said time and again you'd rather a player use us for 2 years and **** off... how come you can say this one breath and then expect the club and other fans not to expect those using the club so to perform

Flanagan didn't have a choice - no one else wanted him! He was offered out on loan but no one took the offer!

And you bang on about Markovic not trying ? How can you even say that? Is it because he doesn't run around like a headless chicken?

This is the whole problem with the club - so many people who are more concerned with having top class professionals who don't rock the boat, put in a shift and go home. There's no emphasis or patience for those with actual quality. If players don't run around like Lallana or Milner, then they're accused of not putting in a shift.

The fact Henderson is our captain speaks volumes, the fact we made Milner our highest paid player is sickening, the fact that Sterling got dogs abuse for refusing a contract but nothing is said about Flanno who did the same!

At the end of the day, I don't even know what I'm ranting about. There's just a lack of quality at the club because of negligence which stems from the owners for hiring mediocre managers since Rafa. They finally did the right thing and got a winner. This winner will implement a winning style and more importantly, a winning attitude.

Long gone are the days where mediocrity will be celebrated at this club.

I am a lifelong QPR fan who has a soft spot for LFC but am greatly concerned for your sakes that you are linked with Rob Green he has been one of our liabilities all season he has a shocking distribution weakness ie kicking and throwing is very lax and is only sometimes a good shot stopper, we have been on his back for a good six months and I would hate to see him go to your club he makes your keeper look brilliant, as for Long I think he is decent but you could have and should have bought Charlie Austin he is far better than Inngs Benteke and Long and will improve at Southampton just think he has never played for a decent team before!! Anyway good luck to you all and JK who is brilliant!

1 win in 9, or if you think it sounds much better try these alternatives:
2 wins in 11

So basically Mito and Jimmy you are both right.

We bought too many players of one or the other. All class and no character or all character and no class. Maybe those in charge thought they would compliment each other but it hasn't worked.

Think its a case of trying everything at once...knowing you need steel to survive in the PL so a buy a few hoping it works.

And constantly under pressure to be Liverpool and play with style so don't have the balls to really build a team from the ground up. As usual in life if you just dip your toe everywhere, you rarely excel anywhere.

As I said on the match thread I hope Klopp is allowed to do this both by hierarchy and us fans.

But then we were told BR was going to be allowed to do that. It was a lie and the pressure made him crumble.

So honest time guys. List the players in our current squad that have enough of both to be in a top 4 team. Now and in 3 years time.

Now:

Sakho
Can
Firmino
Coutinho

3 years:

Gomez
Moreno
Ibe
Origi


2nd and 3rd tier squad players:

Henderson
Clyne
Lovren
Lucas
Allen
Ings
Brannigan
Flannigan

If I haven't listed a player it's because I don't want to see them in the squad by the end of the three years.

I have only 15 players and even combining it I don't see the necessary spine of top 4 GK, 2nd CB, DM, CM, Striker.

Damning assessment but I fear you're right.

Would put Clyne in the top category. I think he's good enough as is Moreno.

What we're lacking is a real spine - which are the positions you listed.
