Jerome Sinclair confirms he will leave LFC in the summer.

He probably needs to. Needs to go to a lower champ club and try get proper first team football....

Depending ng where he goes will signal what he wants from his career though. No top club should be touching him as he's so far from finished article it's unreal. Needs to go away play games for 3-4 years and then move to the prem.

It's the fact we are even having to discuss him as an option that makes me weep mate. Not the worst player in the world but someone who hasn't made it at any club he's been at. If we wanted another average striker we should have gone for Austin, at least he shows some fight and desire. Instead we are talking about the guy who's being pushed out of that team because he was nowhere near good enough. A player who would be so far down the pecking order at any top club he'd be lucky to make the bench a few times a season.

It's the fact that despite all we've spent we have so many holes in the squad in every single area of the pitch. We have 5 strikers on the books we pay wages to and yet we rely on playing an attacking midfielder up front and a centre half as our go to man off the bench <laugh> We flogged a decent keeper for buttons and signed three since who are all worse. We have signed two centre backs for over £40 mill neither of whom would walk into a top four team, we have a midfield of work horses but very little creativity and not a brain between them.

Worst of all in my eyes we have absolutely no one coming through the Academy worth a punt, not one young lad who's better than the mid table cack in the first team. Not one local lad we can throw a few games at and say "here you go son, now's your chance to show up the big time Charlie's".

Rant over <laugh>

Lets hope there's money for Klopp to spend and that he can get the players he wants come the Summer, it's clear that we need to improve right down the spine.

Lots of stupid things said on here

Klopp is still trying to have a look at the players he has

I would say so far Klopp has only made 1 clear decision about his squad: Bogdan out

Everything else is just trying to deal with the fixture list and injury list

He can't do much with what is available at the moment, come next season he'll have some of his own players and a full pre-season to prepare. We're not getting 4th but there are still cups to play for. Plenty of footy to be played yet.

It's not just local young lads going to Everton either. It's lads from all over the country. I was working for a family who've just relocated up from London as their lad is now at Finch Farm, had a choice of five different clubs (Arsenal and Liverpool amongst them apparently) and they chose Everton for EXACTLY the reasons you've just stated. The same reasons I've been banging on about for the last ten years <laugh>

Our youth system is scattergun and ridiculously unproductive and our scouting system woeful. I might have been a tad harsh saying no talent coming through but in terms of actual visible results I'd say the facts speak for themselves in terms of young players produced over the last decade.

So...Shane Long it is then....<laugh>
Our academy success is only part of it mate.

Young prospects in this country know that they'll be given a chance to break through into the first team at Everton. So the likes of Stones, Galloway, Deulofeu and now Byram are putting us ahead of other clubs in their decision making.

If you were a 19 year old hot property based on recent years would you choose Liverpool if you had other options? I doubt they'd be top of the pile....

Another year in transition! Was always going to be that way....shame we didn't get rid of BR last June. Any new players will need bedding in so I wouldn't expect miracles next year either. The good news is that we seem to have a manager who knows what he wants and I'm quietly confident he'll sort us out....given time. <ok>

Flanno
Gomez
Can
Ibe
Sterling

al players under 21 who joined and become first team regulars so it's not that we don't play youth and develop them when they join though.

I just think in recent years expectation has been greater at LFC than efc (not wumming here) so it can be easier for you to being through players in a less pressurised environment.

Yeah but you've also recently given up the idea of challenging for CL football (and probably any European football) despite Martinez promising it

Your cup runs are very important now because Everton are too good to just be a comfortable midtable side

So yes come to Everton for PL experience and a cup run, then move for European football and/or bigger wages

Well Tobes that not really academy. 19 year olds being bought to play first team.

Oh and have no illusions you are nowhere in said pile. When you are first in queue that means faff all have come in.

By all means well done on above list, great work... but for 5k more a week every one would join a club that would give them less chances like oh city never mind us.

What age was the kid though....

It's a great story for everton, just not the one Tobes is focusing on.

All that applies to us too <ok>

Can we really call Gomez a first team regular?

I think Tobes has a point though.....who was the last lad that we developed that we sold on or even released that's gone on to bigger and better things? Sterling moved on for big money and may well do so but that aside, I cannot think of anyone else.......

Ibe and Sterling were bought years ago though, Can was a full international and was obviously bought for the first team, not as a prospect.

Gomez is the only one of current relevance on that list
