If we sign Firmino it would have signing a target man striker look even more random.

Yep he could - but I rather he and Coutinho play behind Mario and Sturridge. That would be a crazy attack IMO.
Maybe LFC were happy to keep the Benteke rumours alive since there was no chance of us ever meeting the buy out clause and everyone being distracted by that did us no harm long term
I cant see Balotelli thriving with play makers. He needs pacey wingers who cross.

I was going on the 'promise more first team football' rumour I read. It will probably e Skrtel but him and Sakho dont balance each other well IMO.

Totally agree. Would love to see a couple of the younger lads already with us to stake a claim. Pre season is massive for us for a ton of reasons....just hope we get no serious injuries. When is Sturridge back?
