All this talk of Higuain and if Rodgers stays we all know we will end up with Ings.

Maybe those who don't rate Higuain want to take a second and compare him to Ings and the pile of **** strike force Rodgers has assembled.

Sorry but that's complete and utter bollocks

He scored 24 in his first season in Italy and 26 this season.

Past it my arse

And how many did loldado score in the season before he joined spurs? Stats mean **** all on their own mate - is higuain made for the prem? Or does the OAP speed of serie A flatter him?

after watching falcao, balotelli, di maria, Torres, Sheva, and Forlan be the worst attackers in prem history, I'd take a punt on Higuain. You never know who will end up good. The obvious quality is anything but.

Not convinced by them. Lacazette has had one really good goalscoring season. I'd like to see him play another season and score at the same rate before I'd be convinced that we should spend the £30m+ we'd have to spend to get him.

Same with Aubameyang. His goalscoring record is quite ordinary for the money he'd cost.

Thas part of the problem though. We wait another year and if Lacazette hasn't already been snapped up then he gets clubs like Madrid Chelsea batten interetsed for £35m rather than £20 and we can't compete.

If we wait until players have 2 great seasons when they are 23/24 then the costs goes sky high and we can't afford them or attract them.

We need to take risks on players before they become great like we did woth Torres and Alonso and Suarez.

Depay, Lacazette both touted as great potential last year, now this year are probably too good for us

People made exactly the same argument about Suarez. Apparently because Afonso Alves also scored goals in the Dutch league, and flopped in the premiership, Suarez was bound to as well.

I've watched him play a lot too, what I've seen is a technically accomplished player who is sharp in the box and scores goals wherever he's played.

He's different to Soldado because he's physically more suited to the premier league than him. He also does more work outside the box than the likes of Huntelaar, Dzeko, Soldado etc. so its not a fair comparison. Soldado/Huntelaar thrive on a certain type of service, I don't think Spurs/Madrid gave them the service they required to score goals. Higuain is a player that's more adaptable, there's a reason he was picked over Tevez for Argentina and there's a reason Benzema kept getting benched for Higuain despite the president insisting he wanted Benzema to play. He's a very good team player and not only does he score goals he also gets the best out of others around him.

It's all opinions I suppose. Personally I thought he was sharper upto about 2012 when I was a big fan of his. My opinion of him changed in the last 3 years as I've found him to be a bit one-dimensional. He doesnt get involved enough in the build up play and his finishing has become erratic.

In the old days he could play anywhere including as a right wing forward which gets forgotten. I would have loved to him at United back then. IMO his best game was as a foil for others, but as I've said above he's lost his sharpness in that respect so whereas in the past he used to create for others as well as bag himself goals, I now find he just prefers to play off the shoulder and has less to his game now. That was already showing to some extent (especially his inconsistent finishing) in his last season at Real Madrid and imo he's regressed as a player since. So I'm not simply saying he's **** bcos he plays in Serie A, I'm saying yeh he was once great and would have done well in the prem, I would have loved him at United 5/6 years ago, but his game is limited now and dont let his stats alone be the basis for judgement as he is no longer good enough for the prem. In that sense he is now like a Huntelaar.

Btw he's also a massive "confidence" player which also needs to be taken into account.
