Actually saw the Montoya link and came on here to see if you'd say this
A player wanting to succeed at his boyhood club against odds doesn't mean he's less hungry...
Did we criticise Jay Spearing or Martin Kelly, Darby etc for staying? Were they less motivated? Should clubs below us in the food chain have stayed away?
Montoya has had a bad year and seems to have realised he should've left... He's played in big games, with big players and knows what a big club expects. Would be a great signing on paper.
EDIT: The cynic in me says we'd do well signing this Son guy... Would repay his fee in a year especially with the Australia tour.
Latest rumours are:
Son
Kovacic
Depay
3 quality attackers - Depay is definite interest and a number of people have said we have scouted Son over the past year.
Quite exciting and a far cry from the links with Ings, Milner and co.
We are heavily linked with Depay as well (i think about 5 teams are), i wasn`t really impressed with him at the WC (which is all i have seen of him) but his record is good. Who do the other team play for?
I think the Spanish preas says we've agreed terms with him not barca yet so we will see
Manquillo is meant to be homesick so...... maybe a couple years older make montoya less a wuzz I don't know
Well we will see
Depay is a special talent. Big fan of him. Tbf, that Holland team under LvG was horrible, and they practically played through Robben.
Son Heung Min plays for Leverkusen - he's a striker or plays on left side of a front 3. Only 22 but has a lot of experience and his stats are improving season on season. Incredible speed, and clinical finisher. The only issue is that being South Korean, he has to do 2 year mandatory military service by 28-30. But for £15m (allegedly) is great value.
Mateo Kovacic will be a star. Plays for Inter and can play as DM, CM, B2B, AM. He's the player who replaced Coutinho at Inter. Best description of him is Paul Gascoigne pre booze. Graceful little player. Links stem from a potential exch with Inter for Lucas.

Kovacic I'd deffo move on quick
I'd like us to try our best to force a quick deal on him and delay cos if it's left a month there will be better offers
Psg want a bidding war
Son I have no opinion on
To be fair most teams play through Robben when Robben plays
I have probably seen Son if he plays for Leverkusen but not singled him out, they have a few good players. Never watch Italian football so unlikely to have seen Kovacic, will have to read up on him
Thanks.

Coughs......Van Gaal played 8 defenders in wc
Holland were pish

Latest rumour from Andy Hunter:
Rodgers is hopeful of signing Neto from Fiorentina when his contract expires in the summer.
Not a fan to be honest - just smacks of finding players who are good on the ball rather than fulfil their primary duties to a top class level.
Yeah, but they all passed to Robben![]()
Depay had a decent world cup but was played out of position (like half the team) to cover for an injury crisis. The Netherlands world cup was very impressive considering the injuries. We are heavily linked with Depay as well (i think about 5 teams are), i wasn`t really impressed with him at the WC (which is all i have seen of him) but his record is good. EDIT...........I would take Milner without a second thought on a free.
