With Flanagan out for 9 months we need another full back. Preferably who can play on both sides. Wisdom to cover RB if we need him to but we some one who is more ready to go.

Latest rumours are: Son Kovacic Depay 3 quality attackers - Depay is definite interest and a number of people have said we have scouted Son over the past year. Quite exciting and a far cry from the links with Ings, Milner and co.
We are heavily linked with Depay as well (i think about 5 teams are), i wasn`t really impressed with him at the WC (which is all i have seen of him) but his record is good. Who do the other team play for? EDIT...........I would take Milner without a second thought on a free.
Depay is a special talent. Big fan of him. Tbf, that Holland team under LvG was horrible, and they practically played through Robben. Son Heung Min plays for Leverkusen - he's a striker or plays on left side of a front 3. Only 22 but has a lot of experience and his stats are improving season on season. Incredible speed, and clinical finisher. The only issue is that being South Korean, he has to do 2 year mandatory military service by 28-30. But for £15m (allegedly) is great value. Mateo Kovacic will be a star. Plays for Inter and can play as DM, CM, B2B, AM. He's the player who replaced Coutinho at Inter. Best description of him is Paul Gascoigne pre booze. Graceful little player. Links stem from a potential exch with Inter for Lucas.
Reckon we'll pay a nominal fee to terminate Manquillo's loan if we can. Pity, he seems like a real 'what if' but ultimately unlikely to make it here. We could do with Insua again ffs

To be fair most teams play through Robben when Robben plays I have probably seen Son if he plays for Leverkusen but not singled him out, they have a few good players. Never watch Italian football so unlikely to have seen Kovacic, will have to read up on him Thanks.
Latest rumour from Andy Hunter: Rodgers is hopeful of signing Neto from Fiorentina when his contract expires in the summer. Not a fan to be honest - just smacks of finding players who are good on the ball rather than fulfil their primary duties to a top class level.
Depay had a decent world cup but was played out of position (like half the team) to cover for an injury crisis. The Netherlands world cup was very impressive considering the injuries. Milner would be a top signing on a free and would add some genuine maturity and 'been there, done that' experience to our squad. At a minimum he's the ideal deputy to Henderson as the ideal modern football grafter. Milner has some impressive goal and assist stats considering his game time at City though so would offer an attacking drive from midfield which we currently need more of.
How is that an issue?? If he's any good we'll sell him within 3 years and if he's ****e we'll be rid of him as well by then
I notice we've been linked with Kieran Trippier (not sure who or which paper & if reliable). Haven't studied him closely enough to have an opinion on, but I know he had a high # of assists in the championship with Burnley. Anyone seen him enough to have an opinion on his defending??
