Depay and Laaczette could have agents like shaqiri that could have been looking at us and saying **** that lets hang on for a real club who'll pay you.

I think we have

1. A committee of lunatics

2. the wage structure of a non CL team. I won't insult people by calling some lads on 100k low. But...... the reality is with the money these days the same policies that lead to our bankruptcy (which it was lets be frank) are not there if we pay 100k again. 200k is now the money.. nuts eh? Well we cannot be offering 80k to henderosn as england international when a queue will form offering 130-150k in the morning. LIKE IT OR NO.

3. We have a manager who i don't get in terms of eye for a player. I really don't see how a guy can see sturridge and coutinho as players then look at lallana i nthe same way or pick lovern.. did he even look or did he take committee's word on this organiser crap?


We wre linked 10 times to shaqiri. he turned us down MAYBE in summer and waited. He had zero interest in us and went exactly where he wanted to be.

The other two we cannot tell.. god knows. Depay might already have Van gaal in his ear since last summer who knows

I think if we are serious we need a better eye for a player, a stronger sense of taking a calculated risk on known information, better value of moeny being spent and finally to pay te going rate.

I'd rather take a risk then buy a ****ING ASPAS who's record was like WTF are we doing day one... or a GODDAMN BADONTELLY who any pundit on the planet would say was nuts.

I'd rathe rbut a younger player like laca and say ok well... **** it he's taking an age to settle than oh.... whats mario posted on instagram now...
 
I think the committee have done a good job - they signed the likes of Coutinho, Sturridge, Sakho, Can etc. You already mentioned that the big signings is what cost us this year - Lallana, Lovren and Balotelli - the two most expensive ones were picked by Rodgers.

Simply take Rodgers out of that decision making process, like most successful teams and let the experts pick the players that best fit the team. Rodgers had control when first came in and signed Borini and Allen. Then he lost it, and then we had a bit of success.

Off the back of finishing 2nd, he regained a bit of control and got us 2 'marquee signings' which cost us.
 
Shaqiri wanted us - he was even quoted. Problem is, Rodgers thought it was smarter to offer twice as much for Lallana instead.

Unfortunately not - I just simply use common sense. For example, Lovren was offered around Europe before he moved to Soton and we turned him down when he was valued at £8m.

A year later, Rodgers finishes 2nd - very coincidental that Rodgers negotiates his new contract and was able to spend £20m on a player we could have a year before.

Like I said, I have no facts or evidence - if you want to read my comments as if they're facts, Ill be sure to use phrase like 'I think' or 'I believe' in every sentence to avoid childish responses from both yourself and Gez.
 
Sterling has 2 years left on his contract so couldn't buy if out until next year if even possible.
 
United apparently made an approach for Depay. Shame if they get him, has apparently been quality and 20 goals from wide position shows his potential.

Reckon on it'll be 20-25m for him which could be a bargain given his age and potential.

Real breakthrough season for him - similar to Lacazette in that they've hit a new level.

However, there are rumours that he doesn't like playing under LVG which is why I think we have a shot. But without CL football, we need to find other ways to attract him ...

The striker is currently on loan at Manchester United, but has failed to make an impression after scoring just four goals in 23 appearances.
Louis van Gaal has the option to make Falcao's stay permanent, but reports in Spain claim that the Dutchman has informed Monaco that the Colombian will be returning to France at the end of the season.
Falcao has been linked with moves to Chelsea and Liverpool recently, and his agent Jorge Mendes is said to have made contact with the latter in order to seal a new destination for the ex-Porto and Atletico Madrid icon.
Anfield forwards Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini have been tipped to leave Merseyside, and Mendes is apparently trying to persuade Brendan Rodgers to sign Falcao on a full-time contract.
