Agree with that but you're kidding yourself if you truly believe he'd never join Liverpool. Everyone has their price, fortunately for you guys Liverpool have strict financial policies so the situation won't arise.

I'm not 'kidding myself' at all and we're certainly not 'fortunate' re: your financial policies either.

You don't get it, we've been here before, it'd simply never happen.

There's no price from you lot that would ever be acceptable, to Kenwright, the fans or the player himself. The end.

Okay, simple question; would Everton accept a offer of £1b...?


You say we've been there before and you are absolutely right. Xavier and Barmby were both first team players and Everton didn't want to sell them at the time they left, who did they both join again...? <whistle>

Agree it won't happen,but Barkley is a similar type of player. Creative,scores goals,physical presence etc.

He's not worth half of that though,its all potential at the mo. Could be a top player in time

Barmby was from Hull ffs, not a local lad who's one of our own. If you ever meet him ask him about the chants and abuse he's had ever since btw.....

I'll spin your £1BN on its head. If we'd have won the Arab lotto instead of City, would you lot have sold us Stevie Me la in his pomp for a World record fee? And would he have wanted to come?

I don't agree. And yes, if you'd come in with silly money for Stevie I reckon we would have sold. Every player has a price and clubs would be silly to refuse those types of offers. If anyone offers £60m for Barkley he'll be sold (subject to Barkley agreeing) no matter what team it is. However, only so many teams would pay that sort of money and even less will think he's worth it. Fact is, Barkley is worth a lot more to Everton than anyone else; aka Gerrard at Liverpool for years.

PS...you may laugh at Xavier but you didn't want to sell him at all :)

Sorry, but if you truly believe that then you don't truly understand the rivalry in the City and what it means to both clubs and it's homegrowns.

The Liverpool Chairman who santioned that would have been lynched, as would the player himself. Same applies to us and Barkley, so quite simply you're wrong on this.
