Would definitely take Arbeloa back... He fits my requirements for RB:

  1. Not Glen Johnson

Anyway... Don't know much about Neto but he seems from what I've read to fit my requirements for a good goalkeeper:

  1. Not Simon Mignolet
  2. Not Brad Jones

1) I don't want Delph, we should be aiming higher and better.
2) I wouldn't sell Lucas until we have two players better than him.
3) In a straight choice between the two, I'd rather stick with Lucas.

Summary... no <ok>
Got a feeling you might end up being disappointed then mate.....

I've said before I think he'd be a good signing for you.

Not sure about Arbeloa. He's a quality player that we should never of sold (and replaced with Johnson <doh>) but he's also 31 now, plus RB is a priority position (assuming we'll sign Mankiller permanently) as we have Flanno and Wisdom too. Enrique and Moreno have LB covered as well, its the CB and Gk areas that need improving.

I don't understand signing Delph at all. He can do a bit of everything but we have midfielders like that - Hendo, Gerrard, Allen. He's not better defensively than Lucas or a better attacker than Cou, Lallana, Raheem... so why bother? He's bench quality.

Shows complete lack of ambition, a lack of funds and/or Rodgers again refusing to play a proper defensive player. Or all those.

Can't we for once be proactive and instill some confidence... target Bender, Kramer, Inler, DeJong... anyone.

He'd be a good short term fix. We're running out of players who have experience winning things and playing in high pressure games. Arbeloa has plenty of both.

Wondering if Wisdom will play for us if indeed at RB... Glen should be gone... Manquillo is decent, Flanno is decent. Two years from Arbeloa and wave goodbye would be a good deal IMO.

Not CB, at this point more changes wouldn't help up as much as improving ST

Agree but the players we have there aren't good enough bar Sakho.

Might as well buy a good replacement for Toure in Summer when his contract ends anyway rather than looking like we're panic buying <ok>

Toure wouldn't be the one I'd look to ship out first. Skrtel and Lovren would both be ahead of him.

Realistically though
Toure, old, out of contract anyway
Skrtel, due a good year (one on/one off theory), about to get a new contract
Lovren, not worth writing off until we have a settled team and/or some defensive strategy IMO

I've not watched much of Delph (I only remember his goal vs Chelsea) but it looks like if we do get him it will be at the expense of losing Lucas.

Lucas is good at what he does, filling in gaps at the back (of which their seems to be more than any quality DM could reasonably handle these days) and moving posession on. Delph is hyped as being a relatively creative player but is this on top of everything that Lucas does? If not then I don't see why we should sign him

He's been with us since 2008 and he's only had two good seasons so its more like one in three.

Slightly different way of looking at it. Toure isn't worth anything whereas we could generate some funds by moving Skrtel and/or Lovren on.

Gerrard will leave his boyhood club for MLS outfit LA Galaxy this summer, creating a huge void in Rodgers' squad.

Barkley - valued at £60m by the Toffees - is on the Reds' agenda along with Roma ace Miralem Pjanic.

Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of West Brom hotshot Saido Berahino.

Berhaino is also wanted by Tottenham but the Baggies have seen a move to line up his replacement blocked.

Absolutely no way we'll pay £60m for Barkley. We won't pay £60m for anyone. Plus, Barkley is not worth that much and we could get much better (for now) for half the amount by going abroad. Ridiculous media story.

Brod doesn't like out-and-out DMs, he likes CMs that hold their position but are still capable of playing the passing game.

You'd not get the opportunity to pay £60m for him. We'd never sell him to you and he'd never want to come to you.

It's the most ridiculous tabloid jarg of the window so far.
