Lucas - Inter

Balotelli - PSG / Olympiakos

Stevie G - LA Galaxy with rumours they might loan him back to us during their off-season

the stuff i've seen today has la already denying any such approach has been made for gerrard.... something tells me that for some "unknown" reason the MLS fan base are not very happy with clubs taking thier stats back and denying them the chance to see them play hollywood football.

Report saying he's unhappy doing that and wants to play regularly. Who writes this stuff, people with principles??

must be... thats why its so inaccurate.. if we add in the people who make up the conspiracy stuff like the cop was never shot in the head...to this we see that hollywood will never run out of script writers.

Shaqiri joins Inter

Bad news for Stoke as forward Xherdan Shaqiri decides a move to Staffordshire is not for him and is set to join Inter Milan from Bayern Munich.

Inter confirms terms have been agreed and "just the paperwork to be signed."

Your loss Xherdan, can't beat a good Staffordshire Oatcake...

Serie A - Inter Milan agree deal to sign Xherdan Shaqiri

Bayern Munich's Xherdan Shaqiri has agreed a deal to join Inter Milan, despite Liverpool offering a higher fee.

Inter's official TV channel confirmed that a "total agreement" has been reached with Bayern over the player, with "only the signatures yet to come".

The Italian press reports that Shaqiri accepted a pay cut in order to move to the Italian side rather than end up on Merseyside.

Furthermore, he reportedly refused point blank to agree a transfer to Liverpool - and cost Bayern Munich €5 million as he did so.

Gianluca Di Marzio’s website claims that Liverpool offered €20m for the Switzerland international winger, with Inter Milan only going as high as €15m - a deal which is initially a loan, with an option to buy in the summer.

But Shaqiri was said to be so determined to move to Inter he put pressure on the club to accept the Beneamata’s offer.

This made Inter’s bargaining position stronger as the Italian club's representative Marco Fassone met with Bayern’s hierarchy in Germany on Thursday, and a deal has now reportedly been sealed pending a medical and official confirmation.

The move marks Inter’s second foray into the transfer market, with Lukas Podolski also joining on a loan deal from Arsenal.

OUR VIEW

Inter's gain is Liverpool's loss, and even though Shaqiri has struggled to get on the pitch at Bayern he has consistently shown for Switzerland that he has huge quality. This seems like another major blow to the Reds, who keep on missing out on transfer targets. We saw for years how their failure to finish in the top four cost them the chance of landing the best players, and it looks like the same has happened once again. With Steven Gerrard leaving in the summer, any remaining prestige once attached to the club's name seems to be fading faster than ever.

Sounds like we couldn't really have done much more tbh.

RUMOUR: Gazzetta dello Sport reports Liverpool are preparing an offer of €30m for Miralem Pjanic.

We'll see. Know nothing about him tbh, but is it IBWT who goes on about him?

Bluff used to talk about him, not sure if Biscan does

Doubt we were ever really in for Shaqiri - shame because he is a quality player with a lot of potential as well.

Not to fear - we have Lallana. <ok>

Thought it was Bayern who stopped that in the summer though

This time round???

Inter offering more wages? Rather play for Mancini than BR? BR not a big enough pull?

We were linked all summer so if it was just Bayern stopping it, why did it take so long? I reckon we could have signed him but both the player and club got fed up with us pissing about so decided to tell us to do one.

there's a really simple solution to all this.

pay the going wage rate... <laugh>

we might have offers a million more cos the italians are cheapr but we prob offered something like 50k per week and he laughed
