Can’t believe what I’m ****ing reading here tbh. It’s on Liverpool, take the clause away so we can use him (because we’re now light) and we will bin him back to you in the summer.

Joke of a club

very much doubt one side can unilaterally remove the clause but it is clear LFC want the obligation to buy to be triggered and they are happy for Elliott to leave .
Think we may have already budgeted for receiving the transfer fee.

I’m not sure that they could do that tbh. From an accounting perspective, they can only count what they invoice…..and they haven’t invoiced that.

Honestly, I’d have had him back. What Villa have done is arguably unethical.

Our new CB, Jaquet, has a shoulder injury similar to Salah had. Out for a few games now. He is probably just practising for when he joins us

6 weeks out max if it’s the same if I recall. I’d be more concerned at a lower limb injury tbh, would be about right for us to recruit a sick note these days

Incoming Liverpool centre-back Jeremy Jacquet may need surgery on shoulder damage that would leave him in danger of missing the remainder of the season.
Jacquet, who will arrive at Anfield in the summer after the Reds last week agreed a £60million deal with Rennes, suffered the injury during the French team's 3-1 Ligue 1 defeat to Lens on Saturday.
The 20-year-old was forced off midway through the second half of the match having previously featured in every minute this season for which he wasn't suspended.
Speaking after the game, Rennes boss Habib Beye said: “For Jeremy, it's his shoulder. We'll have time to see, but it's definitely quite serious."
And now French news outlet L'Equipe has stated that Jacquet could now require surgery to repair the damage with an operation that would leave him facing weeks on the sidelines.
Liverpool are monitoring the situation having already seen last summer's young big-money defensive recruit, Giovanni Leoni, ruled out for the campaign having suffered an ACL injury on his Reds debut in September.
It is a major setback to both Jacquet and Rennes, who have now lost four successive games in the league and domestic cup during which they have conceded 12 goals.
The defender opted to remain at Rennes for the remainder of the season rather than make the switch to Liverpool during the recent transfer window in the hope of helping the club secure European qualification.

Jan window done and still plenty football left but think he interesting to look ahead to next season and how we might actually line up to get the best out of everyone - whether that’s with Slot, Alonso or someone else.

Elephant in the room is how we play Isak and Ekitike and get the best out of both of them.

Slot

Ali
Bradley Jacquet VVD Kerkez
Grav Szobo
Frimpong Wirtz Ekitike
Isak

This is on the assumption Konate Salah and Mac are gone. Obviously reinforments needed but Ekitike likes drifting off the left anyway, is it a case of him and Wirtz interchange on that left/10 role and Frimpong offers the full width on the right?

Alonso

Ali
Jacquet Vvd Leoni
Frimpong Grav Szobo Kerkez
Ekitike Wirtz
Isak

Likes that 343 formation, which would suit Frimpong and kerkez as wing backs offering real up and down width. Isak as the focal point and Ekitike and Wirtz in behind. Not sure it’s Ekitike strength though and lose that ability to run behind unless he’s allowed freedom to run from deep behind Isak? Would leave us really weak at CB though relying on 2 young players to step in immediately, although Gomez probably strongest role is that rcb position in a back 3.

He's probably still in better shape than Gomez.
He is in better shape than than most of our squad.
I am concerned about the amount of injuries we are having.
We had this under Klopp this season has been crazy
Slot clearly does not wish to work with a 25 - it looks like he wants to work with 16 tops.
Unless we get very very lucky with injuries this is going to keep happening.

We could see what was breaking them with Klopp but Slot is not playing heavy metal football so not sure what the issue is
