Exactly

This move makes little sense to me when we’ll have leoni back next season too
I've heard there's this thing called "the future".
Virgil is leggy, Konaté could be off - then we'd be complaining that there's no forward planning.

And if Ibou or Virgil get injured before then we’re absolutely fuked
We've got big Endo. We could always try Macca at CB - why not? We're putting our best midfielder at RB because we're too mingy to buy a fourth CB who could play there, so there's that. Perhaps we could use Ekitike at CB as well. Or Chiesa. We have options. :emoticon-0114-dull:

I know there is a slight tinge of sarcasm in there but some midfielders do make that transition well enough
Mascherano springs to mind
My main worry would be pace as VVD not the quick one anymore but if Konate could stay fit …

Haven't heard of the new CB that we bought but it's a much needed transfer.
which one we've signed about 6 apparently though assume you mean Jaquet

In the past six months, Liverpool have signed five centre-backs aged 20 or under.

Giovanni Leoni, 19, arrived from Parma for £26m in the summer, while the Reds completed deals for Noah Adekoya, also 19, Senegalese 18-year-old Mor Talla Ndiaye and Austria youth international Ifeanyi Ndukwe, 17, in January.

Adekoya joined from Burnley, while both Ndiaye and Ndukwe impressed Liverpool scouts at the Under-17 World Cup in Qatar in November.

Ndiaye then completed a £1m move from Amitie - the club owned by former Chelsea and Newcastle striker Demba Ba - and has represented Senegal at youth level.

Ndukwe reached the final with Austria and will join Liverpool in the summer from Austria Vienna, with the fee potentially rising to £2.5m.

Reports in France that we paid well over the odds for him.

can’t say seen him play and so young it’s one that will need time. But his stats suggest he’s already one of top performing players and fits in with our current cb’s well. Highest aerial duel success rate in France, vvd and Konate are highest in England. And high % of ground duels won - something we lack.

Up there with line breaking passes - something we miss after Matip left and it’s a weakness in Konate

Young and made a few errors leading to goals so will get that inconsistency but has decent pace which is always a benefit as well with way defence wants to play.

we pretty much always do .
get the feeling once a major target is identified we will pay whatever it takes .

I wouldn't say it's something we always do. Kerkez and Frimpong were seen as bargain bits in the summer. Isak signing is the rarity imo

thats why i said major target and the 2 this summer were Wirtz & Isak and for both it felt like we would pay whatever was required.

mind you your idea of bargain and mine clearly differ <laugh>

I read that article too.

What would be great if they are given a chance, instead of dumping a CM there or over playing the current two CBs

I think Wirtz will prove to be an excellent, value for money signing in time.

And obvious meant in footballing terms <laugh>
