Common sense prevails regarding Robbo. Hopefully the same will be true about Slot and the squad.

Slot; move him on if we have a safe pair of hands to take over from him. If we don’t, we need to hunker down to try to get European football of some kind. Right now, I doubt we’ll get any kind of European football next season. I would not consider Stevie G as a safe pair of hands.

Squad; this is where I feel for Slot. We clearly have gaping holes in our squad. Especially in defence. Not signing Guehi last summer (by leaving it to the very last minutes), will cost us very dear imo. There are so many issues with the squad that I fear for us if we don’t get CL football.

Missing out on Guehi in the summer was a huge disappointment for many Pool fans, not going back in for him on day 1 of this window, seeing what a disaster your defence has been, is criminal.

Difference is Salah earned his wage increase. He was a large part of why we won the league, twice, Champions League, the FA cup, 2 League Cups and the ones that 'don't really count' like the Super cup and Club World cup. He's been worth every penny of his wages.

Players age and deteriorate, he's no different in that regard. A player demanding a wage equal to his before he's even got anywhere near putting the shirt on, is a big fat 'no'. I don't like Guehi as a player so I'm not bothered that we didn't sign him. We are very short in numbers in defence so not signing him looks worse but we couldn't have foreseen the injury to Leoni who looked great on his debut. The biggest mistake was selling Quansah.

Speculation on Slot being sacked is ratcheting up. 5 wins in 18 premier league games is not acceptable at Liverpool. I don’t like to see this but supporters have been fed up of poor performances and results in the league. The next 3 games will be decisive, Newcastle, Man City and Sunderland away, not an easy task. We have failed to beat any of the promoted sides at home this season, the Champions League has been our only saviour. The next few weeks are crucial

Slot said the other day not to expect anything. I can't see that being his decision, that'll have come down from above, so even if Slot is sacked doesn't look like we'll be buying at all.

Side note Koumas has been recalled from his loan at Birmingham. Not sure why, seems he was getting games and we don't need another CM.

We didn't all want him in the summer (and I noted your "many" too), I genuinely believe it was a less than half in favour. Because we've been **** this season, especially defensively, Guehi became like a saviour type figure for some reason.

And some of us didn't want us to renew his deal in the summer either. We have him crazy money to save face in the potentially prospect of losing three key players (VVD signed afterwards and we already knew Trent was off in reality)

And some of us didn't want us to renew his deal in the summer either. We have him crazy money to save face in the potentially prospect of losing three key players (VVD signed afterwards and we already knew Trent was off in reality)

I know it’s all about opinions but I don’t get the “not for me” comments on Guehi. England international, PL player so no bedding in required, good injury record and by all accounts a nice and respectful lad. Every time I’ve seen him play, he’s always put on a good show. I know Pep is probably trolling but he’s already said he’s a special player.

Since Pep seems to having a gradual breakdown i'm aint taking his word on much though do think Guehi is pretty good but not elite.

seriously think Guardiola should have retired couple of years ago as some of his recent behaviour has been distinctly odd ,

Leoni looked decent in the game he played before getting injured. Think he will be a long term CB, but if Konate goes and VVD is aging who will be alongside him is the question. Van Der Ven looks decent, and his initials are an anagram of VVD so must be fate that he replaces him!
