I think theres hard ball being played but we have 2 games before the deadline and just dont need him as we have konate and vvd.

If they want to run it to the deadline then take the same offer we are making now then fine.

If they want to not sell for less that 45 or 50 then fine. See him in January for 15 and we will do a pre-contract with him for 0.

Lfc were going in with 4 cbs including quansah. We have 4 cbs going in with Leoni and none of us have probably any idea how good he is.

We also know geuhi is for hg and for konate replacement. We can do thst in janaury.

Im.sure he waited for this announcement and was already informed of the award.

However basically said at the weekend that isak was making it up and no such promises were made.

At every step howe has pushed isak, put everything on him and pushed it to the point that all the blame is falling on the player.

You could hear it in the crowd last weekend even if away. It'll be pure poison on Monday.

You have to start questio8ng why isak went to Spain and what was said and pushed in the run up to their tour.

He should have gone on the tour. But again you can't believe either side as newcastle even made it be known his scans were clear so he must be a liar there too.

Nothing good can come of confronting players like this no matter how provoked or not.

Find a club to sell them to if you dont want to sell to us. But you are not getting 150mil.

They will try to get him to Saudi. If their window closes after ours they may well pull a stunt and try force him to go there for a year and pay newcastle the cash.

They will still be trying everything to not ring us up and ask if we are still interested.

We should really go get a flexible forward amd move on.l and see them panic
 
BTW chiesa apparently wants to stay.

This will be down to slot. He's not one for entertaining anyone

Chiesa looks like he is getting a bit fitter and slimmer over the period of preseason so he is trying his best.

If he can actually get to be able to run a bit then his experience and flexibility to play all along the front would be a useful 6th option once isak arrives :bandit:

Seriously though chiesa will probably struggle to get time from slot but if else get a couple of injuries I'd rather sell off Elliott and play this guy if he can just get his legs moving.

Why?

Elliott just hasn't got it mentally. Too many chances just pass him by.

I think we have maxed out on doak. That's another ibe fee. The goals and assists have never been there but he can run like he'll and gets injured a lot. It's another Bournemouth gamble.

If we can get our 50 for Elliott then thats going to max that out too. He's not a carvalho but he does remind me somewhat of Wilson where things just drift by.

Harry made a decent career for himself and gets enough football to keep himself going. Never really ever dominated a game but had always thst ability to get in on the end of something and get a goal.

Elliott hasn't really got that yet. Has done well at under age England level but in senior football it has simply not happened

I think Chiesa stays. He’s a very good utility player and there is a player in there. He seems happy to stay, I think given our current forward options, even if we do get Isak he has a role to play as we don’t have much cover across the front line.

Hes more than likely going to be a last 20 minute sub with cup appearances but only takes a gakpo injury and suddenly down to not having and left wing options.

I honestly don’t think they are even things these days. I know there is all this talk of players will forfeit their loyalty bonus if they hand in official one etc but tbh I’ve never heard that is actually true and confirmed anywhere, seems to me to be a myth that’s come about as when was last time you ever heard a player do it?

Before his knee injury he was a genuine player. Juvenile didn't bother get him back fit at all. He does look.injiry prone though.

If.he can recover a bit of mobility then he becomes a reasonable option but he will need games to do so.

If slot is serious about rotating to avoid burn out then he has league cup and cl games.v 3rd and 4th seeds to get time on the park and put absolutely.everything in on every opportunity.

But most of all.he would need to earn some.trust that he will follow the system and press well etc.

Fair enough. Seems to suggest that doesn’t have to be a formal thing then, even highlighting in public that want to leave would constitute a request and therefore forgot any payments if were some - hence why with social media now the monster it is - probably that and statements are as good as a formal written request.

Craig Hope says the opposite. Hope is obviously a Newkie journo. Either they're putting on a brave face, or they're going to cut their noses off to spite their faces. I reckon we walk away now until January and, although this was said in jest a few weeks back, let him invoke FIFA Article 17 and go back after the fallout. Then put in a cheeky bid of £30m for Gordon when they go out of the CL before the knockout stages again. :emoticon-0138-think

It's complex, and hasn't really been done at this level before, but in theory, the worse case scenario is that we end up paying £100m. Despite what some frantic geordies have said, there's no evidence we 'Tapped him up' a-al-Virgil (speaking to agents is not tapping up, any more than Newcastle speaking to Wissa's agent of Gordon's while he was still at ****erton). There'll be a lot of bluster, grandstanding, and brinkmanship before it gets to that, but I tell you what - whatever fee we end up paying, I fear we'll be paying over £10m to his agent, and after trent, Coutinho, and Suarez that just don't sit well at all.
