Depends on whether Isak has earned the right to train with them, according to Howe.

Yeah, and howe certainly hasn't been trying to push isak out the door at all.

I presume this means some form of ceremonial apology to the entire squad.

Or a beheading.

One or the other.

Im not one to defend players to go on "strike" but I wont defend idiotic managers who go push the players in public for their own gain either.

Deal with it in house. Tell the media thats what will happen and leave it there.

A quick Google shows no news today on Isak but plenty on Sesko.

I'd presume that means either howe was all talk and the pretended nothing happened, or isak is in the treatment room for his mystery thigh injury that only real sociadad training ground was competent to treat.

Either way I see no fireworks therefore we can park the isak talk.

Newcastle possibly failing with yet another offer means they have to literally bend over for isak now.

If howe goes in with both feet again about his behaviour he could kick it all off. Isak knows he has to play.

If our front 8 (lol 2-0-8 formation at times) click then buying isak does seem a little luxurious to me.

Sesko would be an idiot to join ManU.

Fine they'd have a decent front 3, but look at the rest of the team. GK is a disaster, defence still has Maguire as the best player <laugh> and the midfield is filled with failed experiments and a cpt who strops around when things are going well.

There is no back up to a messy team, meaning suspensions and injuries will cost them massively.

Newcastle may not pay as much, but they have CL and are progressing towards being better, while ManU splash around wildly.

Also Newcastle are stupid to sit around and wait and let others in, while they try to convince a player who has said he wants to leave.
imo once a player has said they want out, rarely can they be convinced without breaking the bank in wages or a promise they can leave the next summer.

Didnt Newcastle resolve their PSR stuff last year so they aren't at threat of that this year?

One does wonder why both clubs have decided this late on to chase sesko considering they could have done it much earlier.

Isak factor must be at play here.

Tbh probably not a lot of foreign players will have even heard of Newcastle. One poor run in the CL won't have caught a lot of attention. In contrast utd's reach is huge, notwithstanding the 2 clubs current situations which may not factor into any decision.

What do we think of man utd set up

The manager will only play 3 at the back so they now have

Possibly sesko up top with mbueno and cunha behind that.

That now leaves mount and garnacho and sancho and amad going to fight for reserve spots.

The 2 available cm spots are then a mess with fernandes going to be thrown back there.

The wing backs still dont make sense.

They've done all the work on the front 3 so far but have so many players to get rid of.

Newcastle’s upper management is a shambles atm. Dont really have anyone in place.

Garnacho will be at Chelsea before end of the window.
Sancho will be somewhere on loan.
Amad will be playing wing back

Onana
Yoro Maguire De ligt
amad Fernandes Casemiro/Ugarte Shaw/dorgu
mbuemo Sesko Cunha

I can't remember the last time we spent like this. Jurgen Klopp was not afforded this luxury.

We've never spent like this in one window before. Alison and VvD im consecutive windows would rank as pretty similar in today's money though but that wasn't in one window. We'll have to watch the purse strings for a couple of seasons now though... And people will start complaining again next summer.

sceptical of anymore foreign player links. We currently have a slot available, which looks like Isak likely to take. We’d need to move Nunez on to free up space for a CB and chiesa to free up space for a winger.

Could really do with some home grown players in there

I think that's why the Guehi and Cresswell links are being used.

Missed that. I'm just reading that because of his age, he won't count as non-homegrown but can qualify if we get him this window.

Never heard of him so just did quick google and see only 18 - didn’t realise was a youngster so wouldn’t take up home grown space in the league. Think still would in CL squads though as have diff rules there
