I don't get the Isak injury prone thing. I don't recall him being out for any significant time it's usually just a knock and a week or two or am I wrong?

I've no problem with us signing him he's a great player but we must get cover at CB as well.

I'd be happier if we sold players first so that we know the funds are there, Diaz is a start and at 29 it's the perfect time to cash in.
He played a nearly all of the season but was "nursing" a strain for most of it .

This is like konate.

Didn't have a great record.

I said at the time hip issues are a no no.

He averaged 22 league games until last year where he managed 31.

Im sure konate will break down as well so I'd sell him if real are willing to actually pay.

Isak would worry me

We have a back up for him though so he wouldn't have to play through injury.

Since Jan. 2023 at Newcastle, Isak has missed 39 games. That's a whole season. Not what you're looking for from your main striker. He would be a big gamble. If Nunez leaves as well, who would Isak rotate with? Ekitike is still largely an unknown quantity.

I think the 2 of them plus Wirtz is something special. Perhaps we are getting a little spoiled here?

of course it makes a difference. If you know that your opposite number needs the player but has little wriggle room, it’s completely different to if they need the player and have a massive war chest. I guess FSG have proven that they are prepared to walk away if the deal isn’t right….thats worth more to us I reckon.

Everyone knows we've got a war chest anyway, it's been all over the media all summer.

Our strongest negotiation position is the reputation we've developed over the years

I see no reason to have different home and away set ups.

It's all about those attacking fullback backs and the midfield balance.

I see no reason not to be so tactically flexible that, if need be, we can change formation during games, never mind from game to game. It's called total football, and it's what a wonderful Dutch team did during the '74 World Cup.

More of a tactical choice depending on the opposition and home and away will affect that.

There's a big difference between that and changing between home and away

I'm not a fan of constant tinkering with the team. Some tactical changes are necessary of course, but I don't like the idea of it as a general policy.

With so many new faces, we can some tinkering, at least at the start of the season. Slot said at the end of last season that he should have rotated more. Maybe he'll take his own advice.

Looks like deal all sorted for kid from Salford - medical
scheduled. Arsenal had agreed deal with Salford but not personal terms with player.

Meant to be very highly rated 17 year old. Imagine spend year or so in under 21s

We will see. Another asset to see what happens with i suppose but word had been this was off so we will see when it completes.

Good read, this. Explains how FSG has got us into this position, and that last season's revenue, especially commercial ventures, is through the roof. Hmm, who were the FSG Out crowd? :bandit:

Right for Liverpool, Will Wright will write his name on the line right away, and right-willingly. Arsenal will write Will Wright off.
