I wasn't particularly keen on Isak anyway but with him potentially on strike, it just adds more reason for not wanting him. I think we should stay clear of him

Is he on strike? Thought he wasn’t included on tour as he had a thigh injury as per Howe’s words and he’s now doing individual training

So Isak possibly back home in Sweden, training alone. Looks like the wait is for Newcastle to sign a striker and then we'll see movements across several clubs. Reportedly, if we sign him, he will be on same wages as Ekitike.

Newcastle, seemingly, unable to attract anyone.

Ffs. If we can't get him for another month, it'll take 3 months to get him into condition if he's had no pre-season, plus he'll be more (even more?) prone to injuries if he doesn't get fit quickly. Maybe an idea to leave it until Jan now anyway, but would that leave him CL-cup tied next Spring?

This is a case of a lot of noise but no real discussion.

Everything going on in the media needs to be taken with a healthy dose of salt.

The training thing, the whole he only wants lfc thing, the wages agreed stuff. It's all noise and click bait.

Yes but it seems he is training at Real Sociadad, his former club, with his own trainer

This is becoming a saga. Newcastle cannot let Isak go until they get at least one decent striker. Looks like Man United have the edge with Sesko but why would he not go to a team in the Champions League? Newcastle have struggled to attract players despite a good season last year. Who knows how this will pan out. We need a CB more than a striker

Newcastle Must be offering no wages.

They lost Wilson who was past it and were looking like making a big move then pulled out of Ekitike talks and it's all going horribly wrong for them.

They have the wingers but not the central man now.

Yes. Isak would be the icing on the cake for us now but we have a central striker now so no panic. The club has done extraordinary well on the transfer front this Summer, it will be interesting to see who else they can get

Yes theres some optimisation of the squad thats required, and solutions to some issues such as cb "cover"

Slot needs to make the use of the two kids he has used clear before we really know if he is thinking they are genuine options.

Alisson, marmadashvilli, Woodman
Bradley frimpong
Kerkez Robertson (tsimikas ain't it)
Konate ????
Vvd gomez
Gravenberch???? (Endo ain't it)
Macallister jones nyoni
Wirtz szoboszlai Elliott
Salah ??? (Chiesa ain't it, doak aint it)
Gakpo Ngumoha
Ekitike nunez (for this week)

Slot has used frimpong at rw.

He's pushed szoboszlai about.

He's used full backs and endo at cb.

I think cb is an absolute must. Its absolutely non negotiable.

Winger would be interesting.

There's certain flexibility in some players and a lot of sales to go.

Isak would be interesting but like z I am not impressed by his level of professionalism

If he's on strike, he's a **** (yes, I know VVD did it too, I said the same for him)

If the club have vanished him, that's good for us in terms of negotiating.

We don't have to sign Isak. We obviously don't have to sign Isak this summer. He would be great to have, and it certainly wouldn't be good if he got his head turned by Arsenal between now and the January window.

That said, he's a luxury and shouldn't be as high priority as a CB.

Don't know mate, but he's training with his old club so he's either striking or excluded

He’s training at his old club not with.

All the Newcastle staff at on tour and he was left behind as had an injury so he’s gone off to do some personalised training. Doesn’t really make much difference where he’s doing it, not like he’s at Anfield doing laps.
