Newcastle can not keep unhappy player. Eventually they will probably be forced to sell not especially to Liverpool.
If we sign Izak then Kitkat will be a bit miffed as he will be second choice with Nunez
Isak apparently told Newcastle wants to explore other opportunities![]()

The thing with if we sign Isak after already getting Wirtz and KitKat is that... yeah we may be able to afford it by the profit sustainability rules and whatnot...but the reason we can is because we have spent so little for the last several years- in order to stay compliant in the future, that means we spend nothing again for a few years after this summer.
Isak would be a massive coup, but I can't say with 100% certainty that we WON'T find we have a need somewhere else once the season in underway. Maybe someone loses a yard of pace in the midfield, or performances nosedive in defence... etc... A big summer this year might leave us exposed next year if we find a new need elsewhere but can't spend.
I certain won't complain if we sign Isak too- I have faith in Slot being able to make all these players work together... Heck, I'll probably celebrate a little... but part of me will be a little nervous for the future.
can't see the point myself as real finances will come into play before PSR imo .It almost certainly means Diaz and Nunez are going (and surely Chiesa as well, if nothing else but to save his £180k a week wages). Nonetheless, we still have enormous wiggle room for PSR given that it's spread over 3 years and we have spent next to zilch for the last 3 years (and will probably spend little now for the next 3). Only 2 summers ago before we missed out on Caicedo (hooray!) I was reading that then we then had £450m of wiggle room to play with, even after we bought Macca and Szobbo (but before we sold Hendo and Fab).
True, we're putting ourselves in manageable debt, but from what I hear of people who know people and all that, the revenue figures for the last few months on merchandising and suchlike are astronomical, and they will kick into next year's accounts when we have to account for the Eckerslike and Izzy sales. The others we've done such as Kirkez and Frimpong were done in the last year (is this true @mito? ). Anyway up, years of parsimony is paying for all this, so enjoy.
Btw, does anyone know if FSG can buy back the ground from LFC and charge peppercorn rents? Is it worth it - would the club lose all the revenue from things like the Springsteen and Dua Lipa concerts?

well we will see if he is a good striker in the next couple of years .No chance we're signing Isak after getting Ekitike.
However, if we did, it's a squad game so having two decent strikers to choose from (Nunez will be sold imo) wouldn't be a bad thing.
If we got Isak then I imagine Ekitike will play more as a left inside forward competing with gakpo and rotating with Isak.
Remember Isak has had a few injury problems and with 4 comps will need resting so being able to rotate gakpo Ekitike / Ekitike Isak in those 2 slots could be really beneficial.
still not sure it happens but I can’t imagine lfc weren’t being made aware that Isak might want a move before signing Ekitike - seems Newcastle forced the issue a bit like spurs and Diaz few years ago. I’d imagine Diaz and Nunez will def both go if we do get him but I think that might be one that goes down to last few weeks of the window.
Focus atm has to be on a CB and sorting out Konate so know if need a starter or younger rotation option.
It's Deffo won't be 150m up front imo.Agree with all that, but I think Izak has been no1 target all along, and the finances are there if needed. We're in a pickle, though, if Newkie want £150m and we won't pay that, but a Saudi club will. It seems that Liverpool will go to £130m but no more - given his injury records, even that seems steep. But, presumably, Evans, Hughes, and co have run all the numbers, and they think it's worth it.
