Think was a time when were linked with him / kevin Nolan and Joey Barton when they were all at top of their game. Think all would have been good signings.

the second I read joey Barton I said wtf.
Nolan was an honest worker but bang average.
barton was a horrid nasty ego driven scumbag all his career.
this is a case of two wrongs would not have made a right back then.
yeah we made some terribly buys in houlliers latter years but those wouldn't have moved the needle any imo.

Yep. I was never keen on us getting Nolan (he didn't come good until he was older) and was 50:50 with Barton.
we will see. I wouldn't be bothered with him as we have plenty of forward thinking cms. he is simply not a great screening cm and won't improve us

in any event he left everton youths and joined us extremely briefly before being swiftly moved onto city so i'm sure our coaches had a very good ideas if his attitude already.
