Nobody really knows the situation except those involved. What we chat about on here is based on what is put out there and it's increasingly difficult to know which sources can be trusted more than others.

My understanding is that Andre had a 'gentleman's agreement' with Liverpool to sign after the S American Cup thingy for about £17m. It appeared that other clubs became interested and the fee doubled so Liverpool ended their interest and haven't gone back. If other clubs are being put off by the increasing fee, then the agent will be doing what he can to keep Andre's name out there. I read this week that he's already said goodbye to his teammates. Again, all speculation because we don't really know. Klopp won't be held to ransom and I'd be very surprised if he now wanted the player after 'breaking the agreement'.

Most likely. we move quite late on for the endo and gravenberch stuff so my assumption is decisions were made and as they are now made that is that for Mr andre.

the player cannot agree to move for a set amount as the fee is decided by the club who hold his registration .

and in this case it seems several people hold title to his registration which was supposedly gotten rid of. I believe we walked away the second this became clear.

He will turn up somewhere for some fee shortly. If he is actually any good he will look a bargain. But whomever sorts out his registration will be the ones taking the risk.

When I said Andre had a gentleman's agreement, I thought it obvious that it wasn't him personally without the club's involvement because a player can't do that and we certainly wouldn't be doing deals without the club's knowledge anyway. Plus the fact that a fee was mentioned, makes it more obvious that it was the club's agreement because I don't think I've ever heard of a player negotiating his own value :p

Fulham manager Marco Silva has recently claimed that his club is husbanding its resources this month, casting doubt onto a bid for Brazilian midfielder Andre.

Liverpool were desperate to sign the 22-year-old Fluminense star back in the summer but failed to convince him to join, and now journalist Victor Nessa has revealed that the Brasileiro Serie A outfit are worried that they will be unable to sell the player this month.

there seems to be a lot of clubs claiming to be looking after the ffp all of a sudden.

I have NO IDEA how reliable this source is and it is obviously a years accounts out of date (these would have been submitted in December to the prem for review) https://sqaf.club/premier-league-ffp-table/

However the numbers strike me as someone grabbed the headline numbers and not the numbers that would be ffp adjusted (covid losses, women's teams, capital build and such)

If we look at the the empirical data:

spurs are spending a bit. i see a good 3 year number for them
look at fulhams numbers they should actually be headed for a punishment. (in theory) they certainly should not be buying players
Arsenal shouldnt be buying a striker without selling someone by the look of it.
newcastle claim to not be able to buy and need to sell. the decalred a big loss for 22/23 (not in this sites data.)

who knows though but theres quite a few clubs talking like they can't buy

is FFP actually starting to work?

cheslea will no doubt spend 300mil this window and 500 in the summer to make a fool of it all.

a verbal agreement isn't worth the paper it's written on .

PS we certainly did/do "deals" without the other clubs consent or at least try to -obvious one being VVD though we don't seem to be doing it as much these days

Well tapping up is certainly a thing and we have certainly been involved in it, as you say. It's probably a lot more widespread than reported as well. I'd guess that a lot of potential transfers start with talking to the player and not the club because you'd want to know, in the first instance, whether the player was open to the move. Get a yes or no answer and dependent on which one then speak to the club. I could add - without telling the club you'd already approached the player - but again I'm guessing, most clubs know that anyway. It's the clubs who take exception to their star players potentially leaving who kick up a fuss.

I think it is pretty rare these days for clubs not to have at least spoken to a players reps to check if he would be interested before starting the actual process which is a breach of the rules but as you saymost clubs accept this happens and don't complain unless like us with VVD you take it a bit too far

We have enough midfielders now. Unless Klopp is planning to push one out, I don't think we need Andre.

even when thiago goes I think klopp is waiting on bajcetic.

we will see.

endo macca bajcetic
szobo, Elliott
jonesy, gravey

young players like morton and Clark coming up.

I really think he will buy someone we don't know about now thats being long term tracked rather than go to Andre.

glatzel off on a free to Swindon.

he's been injured a long time and we looked after him so did a good thing there.

let's see if he ever makes it but we gave him a chance.

it makes sense given the amount of young forwards in the 16 to 18 bracket that we have.

It’s almost like punishing Everton for failing ffp and taking on man city has given people a wake up that they won’t turn a blind eye or just give them a little slap on the wrist

Funny enough though, due to timing of punishment, Everton's IS a slap on the wrist. They'll just finish a few places lower in a meaningless midtable position vs being relegated if given in last two years.

And City hasn't been punished for anything yet.

That's why I asked where we're going to put him. Doesn't make much sense high-profile or big money players sitting on the bench waiting for someone to get injured, and we have enough for rotation otherwise. It's best for up-and-coming players to be the ones waiting in the wings - they don't cost as much and they don't expect to be on the team sheet all the time.

It's still scared the knickers off a lot of clubs as they know if they get it next time they won't be so lucky.

10 points = real danger of relegation for half the prem and no europe for the rest.

Don’t have a proper DM though for all Endo’s good stuff not long term option
