I like Joe Gomez, as a substitute and emergency back up. I certainly don't think he's terrible. I just think if we want to be challenging for trophies we should really have a better option for right back to fill in for Trent.

who did we have in 21/22

I've been very pleasantly surprised by Gomez's return to form. He's been excellent in each position he's been asked to fill.

he's got games in a row to bring himself back into some sort of form.

the lack of games and coming back into the team as bit part affected both confidence and his form.

the amount of mistakes he made was ridiculous before.

I don't think we've seen a major gaffe in a good while now.

His knee injury was worse than Virgil's, but unlike Virgil, he seems to have come back with absolutely no loss of speed whatsoever, and only Konate, on the increasingly few times he's not injured, is as fast as Joe in our defence. I've said before, I'd love to see him tried as a temporary no6 at some stage.

He’s covering every other position, we might as well give him another job on top. :bandit:

I think he has lost some pace but he had a lot to begin with so not as noticeable.

Think you already know I agree about trying him at DM; we can't atm though, we have a FB shortage

AMC is almost back. Is Bajcetic close?
AMC isn't a DM and rbh never looks like one imo and on Bajcetic who knows but i seriously doubt it as if he was i would exprct him to be tested in the academy team and very gradually eased in ,
Personally think he is broken and if he comes back he will break again . I know that sounds harsh and i hope i'm wrong but just think he may be one of those whose bodies cannot deal with the intensity of PL
