5/10.

We can't disregard the good stuff that has happened so far:

- Getting rid of Hendo, Milner and Fabinho
- Sboz and Mac are two fantastic additions

Add 2-3 signings and it will be a good window.

Was that part that good? Not certain what went on but only ever heard 1 figure for the pair of them. Should’ve extracted more imo

Getting £52m for the pair of them was insane business. Two players who were clearly regressing and taking huge chunk of wages. Fab could have still played a part but he needed upgrading.

Hendo has been replaced with Sboz but we really need Fab's replacement asap.

Been a while since Chelsea won anything hasn't it? Their drought is surely almost as long as United's.

I wouldn't go that far!

Champions league winners under tuchel! 2020/21
Premier league 2016/17
FA cup 2017/18
League cup 2014/15

Utd is
Champions league winners 2007/08
europa league 2016/17
Premier league 2012/13
FA cup 2015/16
League cup 2022/23

Utd have not won half as much as that plastic oil/fake money club recently

They did win the CL and the CWC a couple of seasons back, tbf. That's not my point - she just lumped us in with United, Arsenal, and Spurs, literally a season after we were 2 goals from winning a ****ing quadruple.

I guess they did... but they're not really a club you expect to win much going forwards. It did elicit an audible chuckle when I saw Moises talk about Chelsea being a club with great history.

I’m not convinced we upped the ante though is what I’m saying, if the first offer was £40m for Fab we should’ve been saying £50m.

Speculation of course, they may have enquired and that’s what we said it’d take

Not sure mate - I think we were very lucky to get £40m for Fab. He's fast approaching 30, he's getting even slower and he's a shadow of what he once was.

£12m for Henderson was another decent fee - 33, lost his legs, already had limited ability, and not particular marketable.

I think the deals we HAVE done this summer have been by-and-large excellent. I think we've made purchases at a reasonable price, and meaningful purchases too!

In terms of sales, I think we've generally done well this summer in the prices received. I don't think the transfers we've done have been bad at all. I just think we need to make a couple more and disappointed it has taken this late in the window.

I'd give our transfer window a 6/10- it's only the low volume of ins when we need a higher volume that is keeping this from being higher.

Nunes @ Wolves doing the rounds

Looked very good yesterday and we apparently had interest before went to wolves but only been there a year and signed for 38m so will cost a lot.

Just no real value in prem unless have release clauses.

Chelsea activated Olise 35m release clause.

Add him to the other list of under 23s they’re signing on nice 8 year contracts who will then be moved on in a couple of years

Considering they wanted Henderson for free, £12m was okay - ish. I think Klopp didn't want it drawn out any longer. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and we probably could have asked for more, it was clear they were desperate for him.

I don't think they can at that level but its all rumours. they are not in the CL or something?

not that is matters to them,

You are right these are all to be forgotten players who are there to be sold to take in money.

20 players in at 50 mil. =1 billion = 125million on the "balance sheet" per year per year.

therefore need to sell some of these players every year to take back in that 125mil (problem is only the ones who play might be worth havertz money, none of them will be worth the same amount by not playing)

the only question people should be asking (i suppose now) is how much money did Clearlake and their Saudi backers set aside for this process?

I mean there has to be some secret budget behind this spending that they are quite willing to just lose. As on the non balance sheet side in the P&L account they are paying out 1bil in this example and at best recouping maybe a quarter of it.

That's massive losses and not even PSG or anyone else can sustain it.

I could have written it as 2billion spend for all i know.

Look at year 1.

The went mad with money and spend a reputed 600million or so in 22/23 financial year. over god knows who long. say they are all 8 years. that 75mil a year amortisation to cover before thought of any prior clubs spend.

In that financial year up pops Man utd with 60 for mount and arsenal with 65 for havertz. Both first teamers of a reputation. FFC is easily covered

however theres a massive massive loos coming on th P&L account but that doesn't seem to matter to ffp?

I believe they will hit 400mil this summer. now divide that by 8. = 50mil.

so year 2 now looks like this

some figure for amortisation of pre boehley. ?
Year 2 amortisation of year 1 = 6000/8 =75mil
Year 2 spend amortisation = 400/8 = 50

totals is somewhere around 130-40mil say.

So how do they cover this and the wages and and and?

In short someone will want to be selling Hall, Cucurella, gallagher, hudson odoi, ziyech, lukaku

In other words they spend 70 mil on cucurella and have to sell him for 40 to keep the show on the raod and just keep accumulating losses in real cash agasint some budget.

year 3 amortisation budget will be even bigger if they keep spending

However the sick joke is they've inflated the market so much they might get 140 mil of that list of misfits.

Reality check is this

annual revenues 22/23 481mil
Net loss 121mil
wages 375mil

No sponsors (yet)
no cl football = -100mil

Yet they spend a billion.

Edwards would have got more

I would be over the moon with two players. A defensive midfielder and someone who can cover both centre-back and right back. If we splashed on those two positions and then perhaps improved depth a little next summer I think that would be perfect. I don't think we HAVE to get that many more players in. I'd rather two top quality players over four or five good players.

But we can't afford top quality prem proven players, if we somehow magic up the money to afford the fee, someone matches the fee and then doubles the wage.

I ask you out of our successful signing how many where "top quality" when we signed them.
