You can forget the Real Madrid pair.
Tchouaméni is not for sale according to Real
and Valverde is not for sale according to Real

Fun times ahead.

I don't have any inside information on either, but if we did get Tchoumenni I think everyone will be relieved the other deals fell through.

Target wise you can ignore Doucouré and Paulhinhia as we've clearly decided the price is too for them
You can ignore Valverde and Tchouaméni as Real don't want to sell.

That leaves Arambat, Kimmich and a bunch of players none of us will know much about.

I think Doucoure could be the play, or FLorentino Luis (Benfica). There is also Andre ...

Tchouameni would be the dream but let's be honest, he ain't joining our club.

"According to David Ornstein, Liverpool are one of several clubs who would be interested in a move for Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni. However, despite the interest in the French international, Los Blancos are not entertaining any sale as they view him as a key player.

In addition to Real Madrid’s unwillingness to sell the former Monaco midfielder, the player himself is not keen on leaving the Santiago Bernabéu."

Forget it, don't both even thinking about it, not happening.

Kimmich, can't imagine they would want to sell him and we wouldn't have enough money to tempt them.

Oh, I agree. Outside chance, and only going to happen if they need to free up funds... probably only happen if something shifts with Mvappe.

Florentino Luis could be a viable option.

Would fit what we are looking for and we were linked before the Lavia/Caicedo mess.

Well, we could have had the deal wrapped long before chelsea got involved.

Our recruitment, squad management, just general strategy, has gone down the toilet since we won the league ... which is when Klopp extended his contract and was given more power.

Lessons are not being learnt. We are in dire need of a proper sporting director.

Another thing from 2020 - FSG used Covid as an excuse to cut investing in the squad. Nobody else did - I think they doubled FFP amounts to accommodate extra spending. We went backward then.

Don't know anything about him. 23 DM. £100m release cause (so worst case scenario cheaper than Caicedo). Don't know I'd want to have to break a £100m release clause on a player I don't know though. Hopefully FSG could get him for significantly less.

We don't even know whether it's true or not or what the specifics are. If there is any truth in it though, I hope John Henry is shining a light on the dodgy agent's practices and asking for that to be looked at and regulated by the PL.

Other than that, I'm happy all the clowns are joining the circus.

We benefit from them more than others so can't see us doing that

imo this goes back to Michael Edwards.

the club was on the slide then with poor decisions and lack of will and he walked (not that he was gods gift)

instead of a proper replacement in a key job they just appointed a no mark assistant in ward who then walks after 12months.

still no replacement.

Well guess what?

First thing you do is pay the best possible staff to work at your club.

hiring a smackhead for 3 months is not how to work.

they had their shot at lavia weeks ago and blew it. then they showed him he wasn't wanted by bidding on caicedo then went crawling back after cheslea dumped adam only to find him tapped up too.

start at the top here.

All true, BUT that's not supposed to happen under FFP (or at least it's not the way the late Tobes and the late Astro, bless their souls, explained it to us all). It's still considered a debt unless it's paid off by revenue and/or player sales, otherwise you could just run up a £1bn debt buying players and putting them on unsustainable contracts, then sell the club for a billion more than you paid for it to one of your subsiduries , and those debts are written off.

Hang on... :emoticon-0112-wonde

I know about Tobes (RIP mate <rose>) but not Astro, this been confirmed or just an assumption?

Perhaps rather than try and enforce FFP when clever lawyers can drag it out for years the Prem should limit the amount of players that a club can send on loan and have on loan. If Chelsea had to keep the majority of the players they have bought they would not be able to have them all in the squad and keep them happy. Also they would be stuck with the wage bill

Fifa are doing that. Number of players can loan out is dramatically reducing over next few years I believe.

So you're finally admitting the importance of Michael Edwards? ...

There's one significant reason why Edwards and then Ward left, along with Ian Graham -=
