Gakpo is a firmino replacement so that’s a bit awkward.
You realise it’s always a squad game right? You don’t just have 11 players and every player is to replace another? By that logic diaz was a Shaqiri replacement.
Which is why i never mentioned jota
Diaz was signed as a replacement for Mane (not really a good one) and when he got a bad injury two more were brought in to back him up.

So it’s fair to compare mane’s full lfc record in a settled team having come from a prem team at age of 24 and had 6 years in his prime there.

To compare. Mane first season 13 goals in 2410 minutes so a goal every 185 minutes… so worse than his last season and still worse than Nunez first season.

Yes it is a squad game so what did you need most, replacement/upgrade midfielders or three attacking forwards to replace the one who left?
If Gakpo is Firminos replacement do you expect him to sit on the bench for most of the time like Firmino has for the last couple of years.

Anyway, what Nunez and gakpo replacing mane and firmino has to do with arteta spending 600m in 3 years I’m not sure.
Will be huge pressure on him to as a minimum run city all the way to the end this season and put in a challenge in the CL given the investment in the squad.
