problem is he plays from the left of a front 3 or as a 10 / secondary striker and it feels like half our squad can play on the left of our front 3 and we don't play with a 10 / secondary striker . Basically the moment Nunez and in particular Gakpo were signed he became surplus to requirements .
Personally think he is a talent just not sure we will see it in our shirt .

Can he play RB...? <whistle>

Scored the winner against Newcastle. That should have been worth a few more appearances. He's not sulking about it either which is a good thing. He could actually get some decent time in the Europa. He won't get any much needed experience if he isn't playing.

i predicted after WC he wouldn't be with us this season and still expect to be right .

Seems like it could be around the 30m mark. Was given a new contract in winter - prob with a caveat that will sign if there’s a low release clause as would have only had 12 months left and Brighton didn’t want to lose him for free next season.

Trossard and a Bissouma went for 30m & 25m in last year of contract so numbers add up. But we’ll never really know.

Brighton fans have some real beef with Romano and feel like he may not be totally in the know when it comes to them. Whether he is or not who knows, but get the feeling a lot think he just makes **** up to make them look bad.
Very poor of him blabbing on about Liverpool getting a bargain. That serves nobody well. I can see how both sides could actually take exception to that.

Not sure why any party should be upset by the bargain claim.

Liverpool will be getting a bargain so self explanatory.

AMC will be getting his move he want (hence insisting on the release clause) and he's actually getting credited for being a better player than the transfer suggests

Brighton are most likely to be upset but they've still got more than they would have done had they not agreed to the release clause; he'd have left for much less or free of it wasn't agreed.

Edit; only real concern is another club getting involved but that's just publicity in general and let's face it, it's not exactly a secret is it?

Well the thing is if you leave a vacuum some fool will fill it to get more followers.

nobody at Brighton has commented which speaks volumes and enables every chump going to make comment.

we don't speak "much" so again theirs plenty of followers to be had.

for all we know city are negotiating the real fee with his agent right now.

Stems a lot from the Cucurella deal in the summer. Romano has been going on for ages that he was going to city deal was done etc. and obviously that never happened and riled the Brighton fans up a bit.

From Brighton's pov it could be seen as them being less than truthful after.they came out a short while ago and said they don't have release clauses. From Liverpool's pov it could open the door to other clubs trying to gazump the deal knowing that the fee is much lower than anticipated. That's why I didn't think it was the right thing to do releasing specific details before we've got him leaning against the wall.
