Chelsea do have a similar sized squad to a roman legion. Some will surely have to move on. Will they pay £250 then he may not even make the champions league squad?

he is club trained and they would require 4 of those. (17 mercenaries, 4 association trained scabs and 4 homegorwn blue eyed boys required.)

so obviously some players will move about if they stay long enough at the club and move out of the 17 vastly overpriced foreign bucket and some will contract out.

Realistically chelsea have to have 4 club trained lads and have retain loftus cheek and hudson odoi for this purpose in the past. Its really who do Chelsea want to get rid of here to bring this squad back down to a more manageable and legal level.

This is by the 17 mercenaries are likely the first port of call for the departure lounge. Kepa, Mendy, silva, kovacic would free up room for another 500mil of players.

the issue for me is players like gallagher will want to go as well so its likely cheslea end up with the hudsons and loftus types who were never arsed to move to further career.

Colwill, broja, Gallagher all represent value to the mid table sides. Chelsea will be left with the bloat while the focus on vastly expensive foreign players and they will be wondering where did it go wrong again.

If I were klopp its really and either or with mount. I wouldn't be able to fit both into an LFC team IMO. If i take a bellingham i want to let him loose like a henderson, I can't see mount doing a more reserved job and think asking bellingham to might be the wrong thing.

It's much more technical than the recent midfield, better able to close gaps, effectively press so being able to win the ball back without having to tear around like a blue arse fly.

Also, when we do have the ball, they'd be better able to keep it, rather than bouncing it back to the cb or hoofing it to the fast lads.

This could be the midfield transformation we've been looking for perhaps?

Gundogan and rodri are classic "CMS" they are not ahead of the ball merchants.

Silva is a very nasty little so and so and has high intesntity but cam play in forwards

kdB frankly is just a guy who goes forward at times but is the closest thing to rafa era gerrard. He needs the others behind.

Often Guardiola gets his silva or foden in instead of a winger or striker.

I think a midfield with bellingham and mount would require one to take on the wijnaldum role. to balance us out.

cos you'd be just throwing money away.

If you are in tescos and there's chicken fillets at full price but are out of date today what do you do?

its chicken for dinner tonight.

do you pay full price or try to get them with some money off cos you know tesco will drop the price eventually.

If a player has a shorter contract left you have to low ball his club for being stupid enough to let his contract run down.

we've had plenty of players that klopp has let their contracts run down rather than replace (irrespective of what he says) Can cost 10mil and we were happy keep and play and let it run out then buy then. We let windy run out rather than sell.

Chelsea have 407 players. they don't need mount. Mount knows it, we know it. Chelsea can keep him out of spite or sell for a fee that the market dictates (not us or Chelsea)

If someone walked up to you in tesco and picks that pack of chicken fillets up and puts it in their basket at full price do you fight over them? no you get something else and hope they get salmonella for being stupid.

Players that challenge and win majority of their duels - this was the hallmark of Gini, Fab and Hendo in their prime. That intensity allowed us to sustain the pressing from the front 3, but also ensure we didn't get caught on the counter and provide another layer of defence for the back line.

Our midfield currently offers neither any support for the attack or protection from the defence.

That's why players like Caicedo or Ugarte would be perfect for us and I would class them as bigger priorities than Jude. Jude is a wonderful footballer and he would add so much but he does not fix all the issues alone. Then again, no single player alone will fix all the issues which says a lot about the squad management / planning over recent years and how much we slacked off.

Mount would be a good addition (at the right price) - has a great engine and likes to get into the box. Will be interesting to see if we change shape and have a number 10 long term as I think he could be the a great option there.

Jude has to be the RCM either in a midfield 3 or 2.

But what we really need is Ugarte / Caicedo / Cone as the 6 or 8s. Real ball winners

Lets develop the talent the club has bothered to nurture and spot. 250k for bajectic. Why reward brighton for doing the same thing when we can do it too?

Tyler morton is the same thing. A big slow TBH, but he's out classed the championship this season and is phyiscally developing. Lets take a look at him befroe deciding 100mil is the only way forward.

What we do know is that we can make a large group of guys who are not up to it like ox, keita, milner, jones and say we need to change this now. we need to give these young lads a good development and we will have a top squad all of a sudden again.

We need a bit of age in the midfield too with Thiago and now Fab not fully reliable. A midfield with average age of say 21, if we get some of the players mentioned, could be overrun. Palhinha (Fulham) at 27, has been linked.

let's face it though. there's not 250mil to do this job.

there's about 50mil plus sales. we need to look at the future squad now and see what we can do as a club cos we can't do what Chelsea have.
