I think we're all agreed that Gavi will stay at Barcelona. It would be good if we could come up with something creative like a loan deal while Barcelona are sorting themselves out.
Don't like loans, never have and never will. No progression; after the years past by, you're where you started again but the rest of the squad are a year older.
If you get a really good quality player on loan though it could make a difference even if it is for just one season. Imagine what a difference it would have made to us this season if we'd have got Gavi instead of Melo. It could have saved our season. And yes back to square one next season but with additions in the summer, it could have been a real stopgap.
I hate agreeing with you, but I do. Loans are great if you're a small club and it's the only way to get quality players to come to you. Or to get players "out of your league", spending time to get match time with you.
At our level we should be looking to buy and loaning players out to get experience at OTHER clubs.
Just means you'll be more pissed off and have as bigger hole to fill when they go back to their parent club.
It's short term (small club) thinking with zero progression and a waste of resources too
