what did he see then? Our creaking, aging midfield struggling to get a grip on the game until Utd scored….he’s going to know he can make a difference. However, I agree with others; the mancs or the chavs will outbid us, assuming we were remotely interested in the first place.

Pre Christmas be scorss goals. After Christmas he doesn’t.

Was in last year of contract so Brighton happy to let him go and get fee. Welbeck has started the season well and been first choice.
 
Klopp now admitting he was wrong and that we do need to sign a midfielder. Implies it was purely his decision not to sign one (which was my theory that he now has too much power at the club).

What happens at every club mate.

Look at any club where managers stay very long term.

Bayern dominate cos they have the power, position but the managers stay just long enough and the board stay.

Utd abdicated power to ferguson about 10 years into a 25 odd year stint

Arsenal abdicated to winger after a few years.

The resulting mess is created by a board who have no ****ing clue what to do.

Not really. All he said was club are working constantly and if the right player is available then we would be interested. Pretty much the philosophy have had for last 5 years.

The tow line all this time was we rather wait for the right target. Now we’re actively looking for a midfielder this window
