16-17mil for Williams is pretty good, better than expected.
He looked good in preseason for us but really after a few weeks of inactivity he then got the hump and that tells you all you need to know about him. He missed several shop window chances in the cups for us as well. He worked hard on his loan but i have a feeling he will settle into a level now and not be anything we regret seeing go.
I thought he some decent cameo appearances at RW last year, definitely something there at the right club
think his future lies at least as far forward as RM in a MF 4 .

- Neco Williams is now on the verge of becoming a Nottingham Forest player, after Liverpool agreed to a deal worth £17m. More excellent business from Julian Ward.
Wish list - Bobby to get a new contract for us to sign a midfielder. Tchouameni was obviously our top target for the summer so the desire to get a midfielder is there. Bellingham and Barella top of the list now. Bellingham is rumoured to be an LFC fan and he's liking all things Liverpool on his social media but probably not realistic for this summer. Don't know anything about Barella other than he's heavily linked but top Italian talent rarely leave Italy.

Surprised Gomez has signed a new deal. Not that I didn’t want him to, but with WC and arguebly being 4th choice cb, thought might look elsewhere to get starting spot in time for WC.
Unless idea is to phase Matip out and see Gomez as being 2nd behind Konate at rcb and first choice RB cover.

He has filled in at RB too and is the only option there until the new lad is up to speed.
Gomez leaving and going to a club like Aston Villa is a step down , Matip's contract expires in June 2024. He stayed away from injury last season. Good to keep Gomez.
