jimmy theres zero evidence of this move.

Klopps never tried it once in game nor in and friendlies and the entire club from top to bottom play the same way on purpose with high pressing game and 433.

Not one of the current CMs irrespective of what they used to play has been slotted into a 2 really by klopp they all have roles in the 3. the closest i have seen with this is naby in initial games where he was slotted into an almost LW role from the 4231 but that was not as part of a 2.

I think if you said you'd like to see us switch then that could be a debate but you are saying the club is in a transition to it and i don't see that right now.

All the games where we throw 4 forwards on we never got 4231 we go 424, the few times we'd started with 4 its again much lesser opposition and we try to flood it on.

the "10" in a 4231 is really an advanced attacking central midfielder not a forward. they have to chase back. 4 years ago that was ideal for firmino, we didn't do it then.

IMO the triangles of play between wing, midfield and full back are too fundamental to our system to be radically altering to bring one forward in.

IMO what we need to get back to is balancing attack and defence against top 6 teams. when firmino was prime we would have the midfield area absolutely flooded with bodies and teams couldn't get. I'm not really seeing that now. IMO thats really where we need to see the change. elliott or carvalho for me won't bring that to klopp as a 10/false 9. They are LW or RCM types.

We literally played it in the second half of the CL final when Bobby came on.

In fact, we use it throughout the season because Thiago and Fab sit together whilst the RCM advances into attack.

It might not be a strict 4231 but we're not a rigid 433 either.

We often go 4231. Did it against city couple years back but more regularly do it when chasing the game and an extra forward is brought on.

You are right that it should prolong his career however i simply do not see the real willingness in Henderson still. He has to come to terms with a game where he doesn't run about chasing and instead uses his energy to cover others and shut off lanes.

Look at any game where henderson covers fabinho and see if matip ever really goes running off. Watch fabinho in contrast. every single time matip runs fabinho moves back into that RCB slot and covers the space. Henderson simply doesn't see it.

IMO the choices as of now are keita (a bit one paced for me now) and Elliott (tactically naive) or nederson (will allow trent run in but doesn't work well for me wide) OR Thiago (covering trent wouldn't be his strong suit) OR Trent (if he thinks he is so good then show it) OR ox (i don't think he's up to it at all)

I do feel that LCM is just as big an issue and you could put a new no 8 in either slot.

Which is why your mate, Tchouameni would have been perfect as he can cover all 3 midfield roles

no we don't! when have you seen 1 up and a ten behind but rather 4 forwards all up. even when we stick origi on he often just doesn't go occupy the traditional 9 role.

I absolutely believe we should try and get Nunez even if he costs us £70mill... We should also try and get a solid midfielder... Those two and this new RB kid are plenty for this one season.

Sell Mane, Firm, Suarez if we have to to fund it all.

I'd sell Mo too if he'd go, even for £40m. He's obviously planning to go to Brokealona next season for nothing, so sell him and get Abraham too.

thats debatable to say the least probably more accurate to say below a certain point we might as well keep him and hope he puts in a shift .

Hmm, yes and no. We wouldn't have got £145m for Ford had we not stood on a principle. It could be worth losing £30m on Mane in the short term to put down a marker for the long term. And for the reverse reasoning, I'd let Mo go for £40m if we could get it, rather than let Barca get him next summer for nothing. I ****ing hate Barca.

yes but your last point about walking for nowt is the problem . Personally think the absolute most we will get is £35m and that would probably contain some add ons and i would take that to put towards a new CM and RW .

Obviously we never go one up and 10 behind the ball… because we have the ball for majority of the time.

The 2 wide players are obviously further forward. It’s more of a 4-2-1-3 formation when we bring on that extra forward. Thiago and Fan will sit and leave the front 4 to be more pushed on. The actual written down formation means nothing as really most of the time its actually more like the below positionally.

———Ali
——Matip VVD
——fab thiago robbo
—taa
Salah Jota Diaz
———Mane

Isn't he a free agent? So we could sign him up then sell him to Villa for a profit.

Mentioned couple weeks ago I def wouldn’t be against signing suarez. I’d much rather him as an option than origi or mini
