This is all current stuff. My point was that Utd have consistently outbid everyone else for decades, so for @Diego to suggest that LFC have "led the way" in inflating the market is just daft.
Pretty much what I was thinking. Ten years ago Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea were regularly throwing £30m at players which was big money then

If we are going to hammer on here about transfer fees can we please at least put a small bit of context and set the time of the transfer into the conversation.
We can go all the way back to the entry of the Arabs where they robbed Robinho out of chelseas grass for 32 odd million in 2008.
Forget thus fee or that fee is big now. Start thinking that the fee at the time was massive.
Look at kdb price.
Look at how much the multiple full backs and failed cbs cost.
Time after time after time big money goes in by city with absolutely not balancing of books bar fake revenue being invented.
Forget about the odd player a real revenue club gets to buy for big money.
City eclipse everything by an absolute landslide of players transfers across the board.

Whereas we all know on here that Keita is having a good pre-season and will save us buying Saul or anyone else in the window. That's what the FSG-funded journos are saying anyway. And Klopp's undoubtedly happy about that.
