I am getting a little excited at the prospect of getting David Alaba in January. No concrete links to it but it would be a quality signing IMO. Can cover LB, CB and CM and all at a very good level.

He doesn't address our issue with winning the high balls but he can come in and provide good back up at CB and then we can go big for a better suited and younger CB next summer.

Surely if he signed he would want to be first choice CB, as he would not replace either fullback.

Can't see him being first choice CB either because he plays on the same side as VVD. If he's ok with getting a lot of minutes but across multiple positions, then perfect. He would be the perfect Milner replacement but even better.

No chance he’s come to us an not be first choice. He’s 28 so in his prime, would be free so wages would be upwards of 200k a week. And VVD only plays on left because he’s better than the others at it and we don’t have a left footed CB. Tbh I’d rather have VVD on the right to help cover for TAA more as we are weaker on that right hand side defensively eith Gomez/Matip and TAA than the left where our two best defenders are.

either way, can’t see us going for him given the type of wages he’s be after b

just be thankful we are no currently being linked to players that then move on to links to spurs as a one upppin effort.

To be fair Haaland is a lot more mobile and runs the channels so more than just a stand still number 9.
