Upamecano - a posh kid's construction set. I haven't seen much of him, but what I have left me a bit meh, tbh. Strong on the ball no doubt, but given to wayward forays up-field then has to get the bus back after losing possession. The sight of him lightly jogging back into position isn't something I think would impress Klopp. It used to annoy me with Glen Johnson, but at least he wasn't a CB.
Liverpool offered Daryl Janmaat https://www.teamtalk.com/news/exclu...anmaat-move-after-glowing-wijnaldum-reference
Klopp always says he won't buy because of injuries, plus he doesn't like to buy during the January window. This situation could really test his resolve but wouldn't be surprised if we don't buy.
so think about this. January 1. gomez 2 months away. vvd 3 months away. do you go buy a player. fabinho and matip and phillip and williams have 6 weeks to prove they have what it takes.
You don’t even need your editing tools for that I cba to go looking where I said it I will forgo the ffs lmao
Nah I'd go for it. We've all been victims of Greez's tampering so we'll take your word for it. Honest.
Liverpool will hand new lucrative contract extensions to both Virgil van Dijk and Fabinho in the near future, Fabrizio Romano has revealed on the Here We Go Podcast. Van Dijk, 29, and Fabinho, 27, are both currently nursing injuries with the former expected to be out for the majority of the season following a long-term knee injury. However, despite the fitness concerns, Jurgen Klopp has decided to tie both player’s future at Anfield for the foreseeable future. According to journalist Romano, Liverpool will begin discussions with the pair in the coming months. “Liverpool will talk to Van Dijk’s agents as soon as he recovers from his injury,” Romano said.
Being brutal here I don’t think now is a time to be discussing contracts etc I love Virgil - however no one has any idea what he will be like when he returns Up until his injury against Burnley - Gomez and VVD were looking like the real deal of a partnership. Since his return Gomez has not looked a fifth of the player he was. Whilst I don’t think this injury is the same for a defender as it is for an attacker who relies on pace. I would say that VVD uses his pace to rectify his mistakes That could easily be gone from his game also his entire knee area may now a weak spot - resulting in more injuries. I understand trying to show some loyalty just not sure this is the correct time I suppose it could be a time issue ?
I mean we needed another CB anyway with the injury records of Gomez and Matip so I don’t think it’s totally knee jerk. There’s also no guarantees that both come back and and don’t pick up little niggles which keep them out. I think unless klopp sees Williams abs Fabinho as actually options at CB this season he just has to go buy even though January is a horrible market made worse by our desperation. You’d hope they’d have a few players already lined up on some sort of list that we’ve already made enquiries about before these injuries anyway.
100% we have to sign a new CB. Matip was rumoured to be leaving this summer and I'm sure he will be gone next year. Even if we kept him, we still need a CB because Gomez and Matip will be injured throughout the year. Gomez and Matip are unreliable so they should be nothing more but 3rd and 4th choice CBs.
I said we needed another CB to cover Lovrens departure before the transfer window closed. Unfortunately, injuries have been devastating for us and I would be amazed if at least one CB arrives in January. It is not a great time to sign players but needs must
