Not sure if he is happy with a workman midfield given we really wanted a player like Fekir.

Hopefully he isn’t content with what we have! Lallana has to go - 30 years old, injury prone and on big wages. He doesn’t have a future here.

Milner - old, legs are going, not a starter and on big wages. Contract is almost up as well.

Ox may never return to his level, Keita hasn’t hit form yet, Gini is inconsistent and Hendo is Hendo.

I would like to think that away from home next season it will be...

Fabinho
Wijnaldum Keita
AOC to come in for Wijnaldum when at home and possibly Wilson, imo Hendo is a good squad player to cover for Fabinho. So if Keita does up his game it still leaves us with nobody to cover for him being injured or in need of a rest so is that then an area we need to buy in.

At home

Fabinho
AOC Wijnaldum

Milner yes he needs to go Lallana I'm happy for him to stay if it's a matter of squad player only.

not for me thanks.

I think wijnaludum is a no 6 and nothing else. he is too slow on the ball and hogs it for me. Not a no 8. not a 10 either.

You are right about AOC though.. I'd forgotten about him and i was only bullshitting last week about him <laugh>

I disagree there I think he's become very brave on the ball and doesn't panic under pressure he retains the ball from us when a lesser player would panic pass it and lose the ball, he also works hard off the ball. At times especially in the first half he doesn't work hard enough, it seems as though he needs a bollocking from Klopp at half time before he gets into gear.

he's like a dog who runs around a ball 20 times then stands his two paws on it panting form the effort. He really doesn't give the ball.

YEs he retains if.. great.. but thats only a small element. IF he'd just move it one touch and save the lets run laterally 20 yards then pass it 2 yards to the guy thats closed down stuff for his next career i'd be happy.

I just don't think he'd got it

We just have a different view of what he does.

no you are just wrong on this :)

he's like a little terrier who chases a ball then runs around it with his nose pushing it about 5 times before running off with it in his mouth and won't give it back.

we call those "poorly trained"

he's grand when you need to retain ball but anything go forward or one touch? nightmare.

like... mane is mane right? frustrating cos he might miss 3 your granny could score them pop a great one in. he did it yesterday!!!

Imagine he got that tap in one as the equaliser and misses it... thats mane.. he gets a break and smashed a curler home and we are back in game this time... you just know mane is mane and shrug.

But wijnaldum... hes another level of frustrating cos you know heart and soul he can and should do better, but he doesn't.. for whatever reason he slows the game up around himself and while he does the work off the ball his ability on the ball is intensely frustrating.

Gini definitely divides opinions.

He’s a strange player - he can boss the midfield, dribble, support the attack. On the flip side, he can be anonymous and passive.

One thing that is consistent, is that he is very good defensively and with his positioning. He can keep the ball under pressure and release.

He’s the ideal squad player for me.

no wrong.

sorry but wrong.

one touch he is not.

I'm wondering if Klopp is happy with a more workman like midfield, perhaps he'll look at what we have plus the players coming back and think it's enough.

He wanted fekir in the summer so I think he knows we miss something in there and wants someone with that bit of flair to break things down

In with jimmy and luv. Gini is a decent player at what he does. Keeps the ball and at timea can boss a midfield, also when pushed further forward makes those 3rd person runs that open space.

However I do see what mito is saying, he does sometimes look like he’s never seen a football before and takes 4/5 touches to get it under control.

Bit weird as you coukd say he only looks good protectjng the ball he ball because he takes so long to get it under that he has to be good at it... either way def areas he needs to improve on and be more consistent with his overall game

He's a strong player, I've no issue praising him for that, he work hard and he has the awareness not to be pickpocketed.... but i'd love someone to show me a highlight reel of him passing it fast, making assists or key passes.

mito doesn't need to type anything to be right. Just by his very existence he is correct and his every thought is infallible.
Didn't you know this?
:)
Yes but for some reason I keep telling him he's wrong, it's futile yet somehow amusing.

Would most agree that we don't really need to add a lot to the squad for next season?

With Milner probably moving on and Studge deffo going I would look to replace those 2, I'd love Werner and that sorts out one area and with an improved Wilson coming back and AOC hopefully fit it gives us more attacking midfield option. I suppose cover full back would be a good idea.

I'd say were a few short tbh. The midfield definitely needs improving, we've no backup at either FB or for the front three.

No way I'd like to see us sign backup players either though, by quality to improve the first team and the squad takes case of itself.

He's excellent on the ball and certainly never panics, but he does go missing in games too

Besiktas boss Senol Gunes has slammed Liverpool loanee Loris Karius after a series of blunders and claimed he would drop him if he could.

Karius was shipped out on loan following his mistakes in the Champions League final as the Reds splashed out on Alisson instead after losing faith in Karius.
