I keep saying this. Our corners are a little better than last years but nothing like they used to be when Gerrard used to whip them in. We consistently hit the first man. Maybe it’s just my perception
Eh? Gerrard was pants at corners, he tried to hard and often hit the first man
Perhaps my rose tinted spectacles then. I just remember those whipped in balls with Skerts getting on the end of them. As a whole, we aren’t that great with crosses coming into the box.
Brendan Rodgers talking to Leicester(BBC)
Gerrard was terrible at them too, it was a 1:10 type ratio but when that one hit it was usually a beauty.
Alonso could take a corner. Oxlade can too.
Most of the time I've been watching Liverpool we've been awful at corners. Hate to say it, but we got better when Gerrard left.
I agree with everyone who wonders exactly where this improved corner-taking stat is coming from. Can't say I've noticed.
Defending is better (Firmino seems to get on the end of them a lot), but attacking we're still pants.
I'm disappointed that Virg - who wins everything within a half-mile radius in open play, doesn't do better in attacking set-pieces. Lovren is fairly useless, and Matip completely so.

Lovren seems to be our best option fort offensive corners. Agreed, none of them contribute enough but I think it's more to do with delivery

I wonder if Champions league goals are in that stat.. did we score off corners there??
Im not sure if we’ve scored many from corners, but I believe we’ve scored most in league from set pieces which obviously includes all free kicks and pens.
Cannot even do himself any favourAndy Carroll anyone![]()
