Perhaps my rose tinted spectacles then. I just remember those whipped in balls with Skerts getting on the end of them. As a whole, we aren’t that great with crosses coming into the box.

Slightly deeper free kicks was very good but I just remember him trying to whip them in with too much pace and power and often hitting the first man. Was better in the box or outside waiting for rebound

Most of the time I've been watching Liverpool we've been awful at corners. Hate to say it, but we got better when Gerrard left.

    have to agree.

For me there's a simple factor. If you don't practice you will struggle.

By practice I mean go measure every single ground in prem before hand (you go every year) and know exactly the space and issues in taking the corner.

This is the scientific level you need to break the game into.

Practice the week of the game taking corners on the exactly space and conditions you have on the weekend!

I agree with everyone who wonders exactly where this improved corner-taking stat is coming from. Can't say I've noticed.
Defending is better (Firmino seems to get on the end of them a lot), but attacking we're still pants.
I'm disappointed that Virg - who wins everything within a half-mile radius in open play, doesn't do better in attacking set-pieces. Lovren is fairly useless, and Matip completely so.

For me the van dijk thing is hard, its down to us basically having one target and him being given special attention by all teams.

    I recall fabinho scoring one.

so far i've found we have scored 15 goals in prem form set piece... apparently.

I've found matip, lovren, gomez, vvd, faninho and taa have all scored 1 goal.

Ive found we are second on list of most corners this season with 174

I've found we scored 1 free kick

I've found we have scored 8 headed goals.

I cannot find a list of the goals we are after scoring from corners.

I would have to agree with you all in terms of it doesn't feel like its much good.

Lovren seems to be our best option fort offensive corners. Agreed, none of them contribute enough but I think it's more to do with delivery

    For me:

I agree on matip. he nods 90% over the bar the odd time he actually gets any. He gets on end of stuff cos nobody rates him <laugh>

Fabinho is only other option in the rest of the team for a header

VVD is marked tightly all the time, constantly fouled

Lovren is only average, he doesn't really get it on target that much

    Like.....

we see teams with 4 or 5 "threats" come and not score against us so if we trun up with maybe 2 threats and don't score are we shocked?

I wonder if Champions league goals are in that stat.. did we score off corners there??

Im not sure if we’ve scored many from corners, but I believe we’ve scored most in league from set pieces which obviously includes all free kicks and pens.

TBH.... look. he's got a great story but he was still a giant dick head, unprofessional (which doesn't tally with the story he's trying to sell.) and the issue for me is what he actually did there was no excuse for.
