If we sign Alisson and Karius doesn't leave, we'll be forcing a unhappy player to stay imo

If Karius thinks he’s good enough then he’ll stay and fight for his place simple as that. We’ll see if he feels like he’s good enough to earn a place soon

Both Mings and Karius will not find it too difficult to find other clubs, they have just been the scapegoats most of the time with you lot. Dropped bollocks, yep but then most people do. Karius was a damn good keeper at Mainz and Mings is not as bad as you all make out.

Who do you think will pay 10mil plus 75k wages per week for mingolet?

Karius is easier dispose of but is there any English club bidding? If not and he goes to Germany who will take him? Over there 40k a week is a big thing

I think that if approached the right way (ie- we still believe in you and value you, it’s just that as a team we’ve developed into elite status quicker than you have and we need that calibre of keeper now), Karius can handle being taken down a peg because of Alisson’s stature. If this situation was being played out with a Butland calibre keeper, I’d agree that it would destroy karius’s confidence to play second fiddle.
Alissons stature is that at 25 years old he has played 81 first team games at club level.

What makes you think he wants to go? The first sign of a challenge and he wants off? He's hardly got much to back up any claim that he should be number 1 ahead of Alisson.

He'll stick around for a season because Klopp will play him in the FA Cup and League Cup.

Mig would walk into most teams in the Prem below the top 6 as well as a lot of decent level clubs in Europe.

And was named in the CL team of the season, kept 15 clean sheets in 30 games last year and is the Brazillian number 1 ahead of Ederson who many have said was the 2nd best keeper in the league behind De Gea last year.

But who's going to come in?

Look through list.

Southampton? Can't see them pay 75k per week to him and they have McCarthy.
Burnely? Have 2 keepers so t pay wage.
Newcastle.. can't afford him
Leicester... have schmicheal. Might be ideal move if Chelsea take keeper.
Palace? Doubt it.

A lot of clubs are sorted. Then the rest couldn't afford it.

That leicester one might make sense if chelsea poach schmicheal.

Alisson is still a keeper that Karius cant deny is 100% more well regarded than he is. In that sense, taking a ba karat to him should be less devastating to his confidence than if the club were to replace him with a keeper he might feel he’s equal to or better than.

Guess they are both ****ed then, may as well retire now <doh>

Sitting in the stand collecting massive wages for a few years is sort of like retiring yeah.

It's like sturridge saying he is going to fight for place. He actually means he is not giving up his wage and will risk the free market next year. 150k per week.

Nothing like signing a new keeper for almost double the world transfer record as motivation eh...

It's not about whether Karius thinks he's good enough. It's about whether Klopp thinks he's good enough. What message is Karius getting by us signing Allison for such a large sum?

He's already had a challenge. He had to wait a long time and fight hard to replace Migs.

What makes you think it's worth staying and fighting if we sign Allison for almost £70m!!!????

Well, I guess that's what it comes down to...

Money vs integrity/pride/honour/etc

Money has won that battle 99.95% of the time.

Like Buffon turned up at psg.

Sturridge staying where he is at.

Etc etc

Tbh if pride make a player scurry off and hide when a club signs another player in your position it doesn't say great things about him.

Especially when it's a record fee, never mind a World record!

Makes me laugh. All summer, fans have been slating Karius left, right and centre, they wanted him replaced at whatever cost. Suddenly it looks likely they'll get their wish but they're not content with that, they want Karius will stay loyal and sit on the sidelines as backup in case we need him [HASHTAG]#moderndayfootballfanlogic[/HASHTAG]

Nope. Merely pointing out no can't see him finding a new club that easy.

Imo he will stay 12 months.

Logic is klopp wants 3 keepers so mingolet will prob be loaned out and the others kept. I don't know if anyone will want to pony up what we want for either...

Simple really.

It's easy say go but first someone has to make them an offer
