Reds could be without quartet
Liverpool are almost certain to begin their new Premier League season without three key first-team stars in Jordan Henderson, Dejan Lovren and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Reds trio, along with Simon Mignolet, were all involved in the semi-finals of the World Cup and will not return to their club until the first week of August.

And with Liverpool due to begin their Premier League campaign with a visit from West Ham on August 12, all four could be absent.

Ian Doyle writes:

Liverpool are almost certain to begin the Premier League season without their World Cup semi-final quartet after Jurgen Klopp confirmed their return date of August 5.

England duo Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Croatia’s Dejan Lovren and Belgium goalkeeper Simon Mignolet were the Reds’ remaining participants in the tournament in Russia with their respective countries having reached the last four.

Henderson, Alexander-Arnold and Mignolet departed for home after Belgium defeated England 2-0 in the third-place play-off on Saturday, while Lovren featured for Croatia in their World Cup final defeat to France on Sunday.

All four will be given a break of almost three weeks – the same afforded to Liverpool’s five other World Cup players – and will then resume training just seven days before the Premier League opener at home to West Ham United on August 12.”

Any of them professional footballers? <whistle>

Nah professional bums, they pray 5 times a day and don't eat pork though.

Drink whiskey and smoke copious amounts of ganja, I think the praying covers it :emoticon-0139-bow:

One of (if not my best) pal on this site is a Muslim and smokes weed. He does Ramadan etc. just likes a bit of green. Doesn't drink though.

I had in mind that it was against their religion for Muslims to drink but I know a lot of 'laws' get more relaxed over time. Parents will be a lot stricter than their children for instance.

Nabil Fekir responded to fans shouting Liverpool at him
Fekir came off the bench yesterday as France won the World Cup, beating Croatia 4-2 in Moscow.

Fekir saw his Liverpool transfer collapse on the eve of the tournament but could see the move reignited in the coming weeks.

Liverpool remain keen on Jean Michael Aulas had admitted things could happen.

And, while Fekir walked through the airport in Russia he was met with Liverpool calls from fans, and he is said to have smiled and nodded in reponse.

That could be a clue that a move could be back on before the deadline on August 9.

Prob shouted in English and he didn’t understand a word they said so did the polite thing we all do and smile and nod
