the moment there was a bit of fuss about the eagle symbol there was always going to be an investigation.

I was told there was nothing in it.

Lots of criticism of Shaqiri but I would say this. If the Serbian fans were goading him from the sidelines and given the ethnic cleansing that his family must have witnessed in what is recent times....then I’d understand why he wanted to ram it back down their throats.
If what he (they) did was unprovoked, it was just stupid but I guess it’s not so simple for us to judge them as we or our families have never been forced from our own country amid ethnic cleansing and the worst war crimes this side of WW2.
Obviously I’d prefer politics to be kept apart from football but I won’t judge anyone in this case as we do not know the facts (yet).
Less pressure than the number 7 shirt.Liverpool FC are among the clubs interested in a deal to sign Mexico star Hirving Lozano, 22, from PSV Eindhoven this summer.
Guinea midfielder Naby Keita, 23, is set to inherit Steven Gerrard's number eight shirt at Liverpool. (Liverpool Echo)
We just offered him the Rangers job in exchange.Didn't know Gerrard owned that number. How much we had to pay him you get it back?
With respect lads.... he was 1 and was taken to switzerland where he had a great life, became a fabulously wealthy footballer.
the only thing thats happened to him is his family have filled his head with ****e.
Theres a big bloody difference between a refugee child today form syria for example and someone who can't possible remember bar what he was told.
He went out of his way to make a political symbol when he could have done other things such as score a hat trick and diedicate it to his family and thier struggles and highlight the issue that way.
We had to pay someone to cross out the name "Gerrard" on the back and write the new one.Didn't know Gerrard owned that number. How much we had to pay him you get it back?
I can understand it, most of us in this country can hardly imagine the horrors that others have had to go through, and the fact that they hold deep resentment is no surprise.I don't agree with doing it on the pitch but i can understand why he did it. I hope that none of our family and friends never have to go through what his family and friends went through.
"Gerrard" never had it for lifeWe had to pay someone to cross out the name "Gerrard" on the back and write the new one.

The only thing I can say is that reconciliation is the only effective way forward, and sport should be one of those areas that leads the way in such matters.
thats never stopped UEFA & FIFA imposing fines .I was told there was nothing in it.
