So Klopp is hand picking all of the players? So we don’t even need scouts anymore?

never said that.

the spreadsheet is in the bin.

the egos and buying who they wanted not the manager... in the bin.

these were bad practices stamped out and who did so.

Mike Gordon. not michael Edwards

klopps fingerprints are all over every player.

look at ox....

or vvd.... who Edwards rejected. before Edwards would have done a spreadsheet and come up with some god awful cb alternative and bought them but no klopp wanted and held out til he got him.

same for Keita.

you should be worshipping at klopp s feet.

By all accounts Edwards and Rodgers did not get on and now Edwards and Klopp get on very well. I assume it's just a good working relationship and Edwards would never just sign someone without Klopps input.

Yes - the division between scouts and manager have gone. They are now a cohesive unit. Which is what I said initially.

Klopp will need a player for a position who plays in a certain style. And Edwards and co will find the players.

Works for me.

Rodgers wanted his own players. Committee wanted theirs. The biggest evidence of this is when we signed Firmino and Bentke in the same window. Two completely contrasting signings, incompatible with one another.

The deal for Nabil Fekir is still currently expected to go through despite a slight hitch in negotiations, but there is no current timescale, say @LivEcho

Guys - remain calm!! DO NOT PANIC. WE NEED TO KEEP OUR COMPOSURE

I'll just repeat it.
"Not been in the news like, just chatter from those who usually get things right information wise"

Take it or eave it: Clyne is up for sale and has been for over a year, but no one's biting ('cos he's ****). Lallana wants regular first team football which he won't get as much of here.

Oh I don't know, Ox signed last summer, Keita coming this summer, Fekir probably on his way...all younger, all big money buys, all play in a more advanced midfield position that he'd be looking to play in. Doesn't smack of, "Cool Adam, you're still my go-to first XI player" does it? I know it's a squad game, but he's every right to feel like he's being pushed out the team to a squad role.

And Clyne may be the only recognised RB in the squad, but Klopp still wanted him gone last summer. That speaks volumes about his importance as a squad player. Zip. If someone bids for him, he's off.

Ah, presumptions. Gotcha <ok>

I think TAA is the number one RB option, ahead of Clyne. And I would keep him there and let him develop into a top class RB.

Clyne as back up works fine, and fabinho can also play there.

Lallana is an interesting one - if Fekir finally signs for us, then I struggle to see where Lallana fits into the first and second XI. Assuming we play 433 again, Lallana predominately player as the attacking CM in the midfield three. That position is most likely to Fekir’s with Ox as the back up/rotational option.

And Lallana cannot play the B2B as Keita and Gini are the best options there. And you can forget about him in the front 3. He’s awful there.

So selling him maybe a viable option without hurting the squad depth.

Klopps used Lallana at RW/RF more than CM

And he’s been **** there.

has not used him there once he got mane. the front 3 two years ago was coutinho firmino mane. last season it was mane firmino salah.

imo lallana is seen as cm by klopp. imo fekir is being seen as cm as well.

lallana needs a full preseason and imo he is most useful for the press. I don't actually really rate his creativity even if technically he is reasonable.

Exactly - he started in the front 3 but klopp moved him back because he wasn’t good.

Bar a 3-4 month purple patch at the beginning of last season, he’s been average in that position as wel hence why we want fekir and signed Ox.

All he has his pressing and that will drop due to injuries and age.

yeah.... just the way it is.

klopp wants a midfielder advanced of the other 2 joining the front 3 press. that imo will be fekir if he does sign. ox when fit again or Milner if his legs hold out.

lallana will need to get himself really fit this summer to get games.

Lallana will be dropped to cup games I reckon.

Ie rest key players to keep them fit for league and cl games.

He will have his use just like if we signed Shakiri.

Squad/fringe players.

Lallana doesn’t fit our front 3 because he doesn’t have the pace. I’d be sad to see him go as I do think he offers something different to this squad. Link up play and keeping the ball.

It’s not just lack of pace. He can’t beat a player with skill or drop of a shoulder and critically, he hasn’t got the vision to play through balls or key passes.

I actually wouldn’t mind keeping him but after looking at he role he would play, we’re already covered. Depends on whether he thinks he can break through?

Melissa Reddy has said the delay is held up by the medical. Neither club are commenting.
I have heard medical was fine even the 2nd one as worried about past injury etc.

Lyon president is supposed to be the stumbling block now.

I swear this is done on purpose to give journos something to write about lol.

The Echo said that the initial fears were eased after the second opinion.

But now everyone saying that there are still fears, despite neither club commenting so it could be more assumption than fact.

Perhaps there are concerns which came up in the medical and we want to renegotiate the fee?

Disagree with the first part as he could beat his man with trickery but pretty much agree on the 2nd point.
Personally think he will go if ,and it's a big if, we get an offer if only due the recurring injuries.
