Maybe a good midfield and we'd limit them to shots from 40-45 yards <ok>

Oh....wait....

Fair enough mate - in an ideal world, we will address all of the needs in one go.

I’m just more concerned with how easily our game dropped once Salah went off. Our plan A was working pretty well for the first half hour. But no plan B.

Imagine if we lost either Mane or Salah earlier this season? We were very lucky neither suffered big injuries.

It's bottle. the usual suspects.

no winning but imo the usual few went into shells and destroyed the press.

Well it’s definitely different to make a mistake of that caliber when you’ve already won titles for your team compared with it you haven’t won a thing. At least in terms of overcoming the psychological self doubt et all.

A holding midfield player is also wanted. Jorginho likely to join Manchester City, but at least 2 other alternative targets have already been identified, says @neiljonesgoal.

Liverpool are ready to step up their efforts to sign Lyon captain Nabil Fekir with talks over a potential £60 million (€69m/$80m) deal to get underway this week, writes @neiljonesgoal

There is competition from a number of clubs, including Chelsea, for Fekir's signature, although the Reds are confident that they can see off other potential suitors and get the deal over the line. (Neil Jones)

imo klopp has not really got rid of that mentality issue

when things are good it's great but that light switch happens and it's then turgid and he can't get it back on the day then.

imo three things need to happen without naming names

1. defensive line needs to stay high.

2. front press must happen.

3. midfield needs to stay up and support press.

v real we went passive and dropped off. everyone did including mane.

firmino was utterly isolated and couldn't contribute.

lallana couldn't do a thing.

where that starts I have an opinion or two but what's the point now

Don't get me wrong, I'm in full agreement with you on all other positions....I just like to see the leaky holes fixed before we fill the bucket! <ok>

Good job the ACON has moved to June/July 2019 - what would our Plan A look like without Salah, Mané and Keita?

We were playing well until Salah went off - then we had no choice but to go passive imo.

Our press and front 3 we're doing well, we were on top....but with no Salah, Madrids quality took over. Had we a replacement who was decent, it would have been better but we had a half fit lallana.....while they had a fully fit Bale to bring off the bench. Klopp would have learnt a lot from that game tbh. The first thing is that a fully fit first 11 can give anyone a game....but lose a kingpin and our squad depth is waaaay too shallow.

The defensive line struggled to stay high because once Salah went off, Real pushed higher because there wasn’t that threat anymore. Only Mane has the speed to run in behind.

Real pushed up, put our midfield under more pressure and we just couldn’t resist their press because we don’t have midfielders who can play out of pressure and keep the ball or beat a man.

And I agree about mentality. There are not enough players with the ‘win at all cost’ mentality. Keita definitely has it and Fekir has some arrogance as well. But we need more snide.

Liverpool will test Roma’s resolve to keep Alisson, their Brazil goalkeeper, with efforts to recruit a new No 1 becoming more critical in light of Loris Karius’s calamitous performance in the Champions League final, writes @_pauljoyce

If we go for Fekir and a top goal keeper, then I don't think we will spend too much elsewhere sadly.

I don't think we will be able to recoup much from Sturridge, Origi, Markovic etc
