Anyhow Coutinho... Thank God that's over. Don't get me wrong, great player, but let's move on now. At his best he was breath taking at his worst he could still change matches with a splash of brilliance, anonymous for 90 mins except a brilliant play... But you couldn't always count on it.


As long as we replace with quality I'm not too bothered. Get some consistency. Maybe overall not as good, but hopefully someone who doesn't go through such hot and cold patches.

How much do you reckon Mahrez is worth given that he plays with "lesser" players ?

I'd deffo rather spend £50m on mahrez than £90m on Lemar - in a ****ing heartbeat. Only thing for me is that Mahrez will have to up his workrate. That said, there was nothing more pitiful, in my book, than watching Ford playing at left half trying to cover Moreno in some formations.
 
I don't want us to sign Mahrez tbh. He is a good player but doesn't have the application required to be a Jurgen Klopp player, so it feels like this would be a panic buy similar to Benteke and Balotelli.

Lemar would be my first choice but i agree the price is steep, followed by Draxler. Alternatively i'd quite like to see us sign Goncalo Guedes from PSG, but that would probably have to wait until the summer as he's currently on loan at Valencia.

Barca will be selling players in the summer by the way, not because they need to but because they are carrying a lot of dross at the moment.

I fully expect some right dogs to turn up but also a few more gems.

just our club...

btw fee is great. more than we said we would get and a good amount up front. in summer I would have taken 120mil.

but our season is now ****ed. not only by this but by firmino.

get get in vvd get a little boost and think just maybe here... then it all gets ripped to shreds in 48 hours.
 
my view on mahrez is this....

would he not play right wing where salah us now? and ox?

why would we buy there.. surely me is where we buy if not a striker.

Coutinho wasn't there when we beat Hoffenheim 1-2 or 4-2 to qualify for the CL.

Coutinho wasn't there when we beat Arsenal 4-0. He was there when we drew 3-3 and when Spurs beat us 4-1.

Coutinho wasn't there when we knocked Everton out of the FA Cup. He was there when we drew 1-1 with Everton. He was there when Leicester knocked us out of the LC.

Stats are warped by the one amazing season. Break it down season by season and I imagine it will look different.
