Mahrez will definitely improve our first team. We don't have anybody with his creativity or even shooting accuracy once Coutinho leaves.

As for the prices we'll be paying, what difference does it make us receiving £140m and buying 2 players we want for £70m each instead of receiving £80m and buying the same 2 players for £40m each? None whatsoever.

Sky Sports News has been told that Liverpool are not interested in signing Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez, as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho.

Reports have suggested the Algerian is close to a move, but we’ve been told that there has been no contact between Leicester and Liverpool.

And while Jurgen Klopp is in the market for a creative forward player in the wake of Coutinho’s move to Barcelona, he has targets other than Mahrez in mind.

Leicester too, would want much more than the £50m fee suggested.

If we has £330m we could pay the release clause of that new guy that Barca have bought - he'd be ideal.
