Yeah, I suppose what we should do really is wait until he has 1 good season (maybe like last year with 2 trophies) and then throw a 6 year contract at him on the strength of it :emoticon-0100-smile

Good logic isn't it...

Winning a trophy isn't a sign of job security for managers at OT, Moyes won the Community Shield...gone!
Poor Louis Van Gaal was just about to celebrate winning the FA Cup when....gone!

Last year's diddy treble won't save Maureen from the chop, Sir Bobby Charlton will see to it.:bandit:

Exactly, so why offer a new contract when he is only half way through the present one.

Tbh, I would offer him the new contract, mainly because I dislike him and love to see him squirm because he knows he can't match Pep and City, but, I can see why Utd wouldn't give him a new contract after taking the current situation into consideration, no chance of the league title, could possibly win the FA Cup, has a small outside chance of the CL.
But if the Glazer's hand him many more millions to spend in the January window you can bet it's been agreed that he'll see his contract out and there'll be a chance of a new one if things go well.

When is Klopp due a new contract?

they didn't moan that much on lambert.

a few moaned at lallana cos he said he would stay forever but most of all they thought the entire club was imploding as other clubs were poaching too.

lovren pissed them off yes but the fee was stonking as was the lallana fee.

they were ok once they got Koeman etc and really only it's the hard core that go with the betrayal line.

I deffo think the fury this summer and the stance the club had to take up once it was revealed klopp took vvd on a date on the pier is a order of magnitude higher.

No way could we moan about him getting his dream move after what he did for us .

The fact he had an open letter published says it all IMHO .

Just a shame it never really worked out for him .

Well he is into his 3rd year, why haven't you offered him another one?

Mainly because i don't work for LFC and negotiate contracts, those that do work for the club and do negotiate contracts will have discussed the situation with Klopp no doubt.
Funny thing is we were talking about Maureen and you've manipulated it to be about Klopp.

Underhanded tactics.<grr>

Nah, we were talking about a bullshit headline mate, "manager not yet offered new contract when half way through his present one"
It's like the situation with players, "here son, sign for 4 years and we will give you £100k/ week, don't worry though, in 2 years we will up it to £120k if you sign for another 4 years"
It's bullshit, if a player signs a 4 year contract for £100k per week you pay him that for 4 years, when he gets to the last 6 months and can look around you make him an offer that you think he is worth to you, if someone else offers more then you either match it or get another player in.

Yeah, but, even though I know you'll disagree, Pep is the main denominator as to whether Mourinho sees out his contract or gets a new one at Utd, we all know Mourinho has won the title in his 2nd season at his previous clubs, that obviously won't be happening this season, and his anger issues usually lead to a major breakdown and leads to him leaving or getting sacked from whichever club he's at.
Based on his past, he needs to be top dog or he can't function, particularly if his signings don't do the business, Utd might be the richest club in the world but they won't match City pound for pound on transfers, so in a nutshell, he either shows he's prepared to attempt something he's never done before, work at achieving success with what he's got or go elsewhere where money is no object in buying success.

Can't argue with that.
Pep is a 3 year man then he "needs a break". He comes in, spends loads (like Jose) and wins things, then when he is told he doesn't need to spend anymore because he has a great squad he suddenly needs a break. He took the most powerful team in Europe (Bayern) and turned them quite ordinary, With City he may get the money a little longer but even the Arabs will start asking why he needs more when his team have just swept the board.
The two are very much alike.
