Would not be surprised to see clubs spending unwisely going into administration. Spending more than your turnover on a player is
unrealistic. Maybe PSG did their home before they bought Neymar, who knows?.

when Neymar becomes the face of everything to do with qatar yes..... i mean they are seriously going to milk that asset.

true but having lots of "factors" is one good way to sound impressive at the same time. There cannot be 35 key factors. 4/5 i would say, that really influence matters.

contract length for example. Book value can relate into this but the main thing is about buying the player out of that contract and pressure to sell. If coutinho had 2 years left or even 3 not 5 would we have sold.. yup imo.

fee paid factors into value.

perofrmance factors in there too.

Age.....

Image rights performance.

etc etc
They claim 30 variables plus the following -
  1. Contract duration
  2. Year of transfer
  3. Book value
  4. Loan status
  5. Level of buying club (estimated)
Using Sigurdsson as the e.g. as everybody seems to be - he would have been expected to go to a club of similar status to Swansea as he's not a rising star and hasn't had much 'success' nor is he in the 'limelight'. That means his value is automatically judged to be lower than players of similar age but with higher 'status'. You could probably name several players of the same age, same book value who are valued higher because they would be wanted by the bigger clubs. I don't know how Swansea managed to get over the odds for him even in the light of crazy summer prices but I'm confident it wasn't based on book value. Interestingly his price on FF went down when he moved to Everton <laugh> [HASHTAG]#nowthatsscience[/HASHTAG]

Yeah but it does have his free kicks and assists in there. Fair enough he failed at spurs and that..

At the end of the day Everton wanted him and thought him worth the £45m so that's all that counts in the 'real world'. He scored an absolute cracking goal [that they didn't 'need'] [HASHTAG]#doingalukaku[/HASHTAG] - they'll be hoping for more of the same to show what his real worth is.

But his contract is five more years at around £8 million a year. So you would take £40m in damages?

If it's true he will refuse to play, and as I said above I think that's doubtful, then he'd pay £40m in a second and join Barca in Jan. You could claim all the agents fees paid, any bonuses paid and any of that and it still wouldn't cover the money Barca offered.

Barca would probably advance him the money, and once you've repudiated the contract and claimed the full amount you couldn't withhold the registration as he'd be a Bosman.

All of which is without any damages. Based upon what Barca offered we could easily withhold his licence until damages are settled in a civil court. Breech of contract doesn't just cover his wages. Try again.

Why would we repudiate the contract until we got EVERYTHING we wanted from both himself and his agent? Again, think about what you're saying - if it was that easy why wouldn't VVD, for instance, had done this in a shot? They'd have no licence to play football for years as it meandered through the courts, for a start.
